Diane D. Purdin
Diane Drusilla Purdin, 53, Augusta, U.S. Army veteran, died Friday, April 18 in Tulsa, Okla.
Her funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, April 24, at Dunsford Chapel in Augusta.
Diane was born on Dec. 10, 1949 in Wichita to Calvin O. Purdin and Drusilla Carter Purdin.
Diane attended Augusta schools, kindergarten through high school. In high school she enjoyed pep club and was a member of Rainbow Girls.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and attended several summer camps and trips.
After graduation she enlisted in the WAC’s, Third U.S. Army, and was stationed at Fort McClelland, Ala. She was in a jeep accident and became a service connected disabled veteran. She received an honorable discharge and the National Defense Service medal. Following her discharge, she attended Butler County Community College in El Dorado and a vocational school in Topeka.
Later she worked for her parents in their cleaning business. She was a member of the American Legion for 30 years. She was an avid amateur photographer. Diane loved animals and was a member of the American Humane Society and the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
Survivors include: mother, Drusilla Purdin of Tulsa; brother, Cal Purdin of Scottsdale, Ariz.; sister, Elizabeth Purdin of Augusta; nephew, Todd Purdin, niece, Molly Purdin, both of Scottsdale.
Memorial established with First United Methodist Church in Augusta, or the Haverhill Christian Church.
Dunsford Funeral Home of Augusta has charge of the arrangements.
Cameron Reagor
Cameron Reagor, 63, Bakersfield, Calif., formerly of Augusta, died on April 9, 2003 after a long, courageous battle with cancer.
He was born in Bridgeport, Neb., grew up in Augusta and graduated from the University of Texas. He worked for 0 c c i p d e n t Petroleum for nearly 20 years, spending much of his career i. England, the Middle East and South America. He made friends all over the world and kept in touch with many up until his death. He spent the past seven years in Bakersfield, Calif, with his wife, Marilee.
He was the son of longtime Augusta residents, Weldon and Janet Reagor. He is survived by his mother, who now lives in Phoenix with her grandchildren.
Imogene Butler
Imogene Butler, 80, Douglass, homemaker, died Saturday, April 19, 2003.
Private family services will be held.
She was preceded in death by husband, Glen Butler.
Survivors are: son, Greg Butler of Douglass; daughter, Carla Butler of Douglass; sisters, Donna Griswold of Kansas City, Marjorie Cass-Wisner of Osceola, Mo., Wanda Schievelbein of Fredericksburg, Texas.
Smith Mortuary of Derby is handling the arrangements.
