Genevieve “Jeannie” Shirk, 85, Augusta, died Thursday, June 26, 2003.
Services were pending this morning with Headley Funeral Home of Augusta.

Jeannie Shirk

Genevieve E. “Jeannie” Shirk, 85, Augusta, St. James Catholic Church housekeeper, died Thursday, June 26, 2003.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. tomorrow. July 1, at St. James Catholic Church in Augusta.
Visitation is possible from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. today. A rosary will be held at 6 p.m.
this evening in the Headley Funeral Chapel in Augusta.
She was born on Jan. 1, 1918 in New Jersey and was the daughter of the late
Joseph and Anna Kerval Sokol.
She was a member of Augusta St. James Catholic Church, the church choir, past president and member of the Altar Society, and a charter member of Harvest House.
On May 30,1943 she married John Alden Shirk. He preceded her in death.
Survivors are: son and daughter-in-law, Frank and Sara Shirk of St. Charles, Mo.; daughter and son-in-law, Bernadette and Randy Windhorst of Wichita; grandchildren, Angela Radakovich and husband, Tony and Andrew Shirk; great-grandson, Mitch Radakovich.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. James Catholic Church Building Fund, 1012 Belmont Ave., Augusta, 67010.
Headley Funeral Chapel of Augusta has charge of the arrangements.

Ethelyn Falwell

Ethelyn J. Falwell, 91, Lawrence, died Thursday, June 5, 2003.
Inurnment services will be held at 1:30 p.m. at Elmwood Cemetery in Augusta. A memorial gathering was held on June 9 at Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the Salvation Army, or Douglas County CASA, and may be sent in care of the Warren-McElwain Mortuary at 120 W. 13th, Lawrence, 66044.

Viola Jones

Viola E. Jones, 97, Douglass, retired school teacher, Triangle Cafe cashier and farm wife, died Saturday, June 28, 2003.
Visitation 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Hilyard-Smith Funeral Home in Douglass. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Douglass United Methodist Church.
Survivors are: son, Larry Jones of Douglass, John Raymond Jr. of Longton; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.
Memorials established with the Douglass United Methodist Church and the Douglass Public Library.
Hilyard-Smith Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
