Leroy Gunnerson

Former Augusta resident Rueben Gustaf Leroy Gunnerson, 89, Hutchinson, died June 11, 2003.
A private graveside service was held at the Smokey Hill Cemetery in Saline County.
Mr. Gunnerson was a retired process engineer with Mobil Oil.Corporation and had tours of duty in Australia, Iran, Turkey, and California in addition to work at the former Mobil refinery here. He was a member of the Augusta Kiwanis Club.
He leaves two daughters and their families.
A memorial has been established with the First United Methodist Church of Augusta.
Johnson & Sons Funeral Home of Hutchinson was in charge of arrangements.

Willard W. Knollenberg

Former Douglass resident Willard Wilson Knollenberg, 87, Wichita, died Thursday, June 28, 2003.
He was an Army veteran of World War II and worked at Beech and Cessna Aircraft.
A memorial service will be held at Culbertson-Smith Mortuary in Wichita at 2 p.m. on Friday, July 11. 'Survivors are: son,
Steven Knollenberg; daughter, Judy; numerous grandchildren; sister, Donna Drain of Sapulpa, Okla.; brothers, Bill Knollenberg of Claremore, Okla., Quentin (Pete) Knollenberg of Arkansas.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the ' Boy Scouts of America.

Mortuary of Wichita has charge of the arrangements.

James Elwell

James Eldon “Jim” Elwell, 70, Wichita, formerly of Augusta, retired avionics design engineer for Raytheon and Cessna Aircraft companies, died Sunday, July 20, 2003.
His funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 26, at Lakeview Funeral Home Chapel in Wichita.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home on Friday, July 25.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John
Elwell and Peggy Plagge, and brother, John Elwell.
He served as past master of the Mystic Tie Lodge. He was a heart transplant survivor for 13 1/2 years and the family would like to acknowledge the John Steckstor family for their gift of life through organ donation.
Survivors are: wife, Iva Jean of Wichita; daughters and sons-in-law, Drs. Janet and Kyle Fanning of Oklahoma City and formerly of Augusta, Joyce and Jim Green of Brandon, Miss., Judy and Terry Williams of Wichita; sister and brother-in-law, Ellen and Keron Shank of Wichita; granddaughter, Jessica Green of Brandon, Miss.
A memorial has been established with Midwest Transplant Network, 1035 N. Emporia, Wichita, 67214.
Lakeview Funeral Home of Wichita is in charge of the arrangements.
