Dorothy I. Starr

Dorothy Irene “Penny” Starr, 77, Haysville, mother of Dave Starr of Augusta, died Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2003.
Funeral service was held Saturday in Moulton, Iowa.
Other survivors are-daughters, Beth Brigham of Derby, Valerie Slaughter of Haysville; son, Mark of Mobile, Ala.; 16 grandchildren; six great-grandchil-dren.
Memorial established with Haysville Public Library.
Schmidt Family Funeral Home of Centerville, Iowa, had charge of the arrangements.

Jackie Dean Payton

Jackie Dean Payton, 57, Augusta, retired Boeing
employee and United States Marine Corps veteran, died Friday, Dec. 5’ 2003.
Graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, 1 Dec. 10, at Elmwood Cemetery in Augusta. Visitation
with family from 6 to 7 p m Tuesday at Dunsford Funeral Home in Augusta.
Survivors include sons, Gary Zonker of Augusta Lynn McVay of Exeter, N.H.-mother, Faye Payton of Augusta; brothers, Newton and Jerry Payton of Augusta; sisters, Mary Thornton of Augusta, Geneice Carpenter of Grove, Okla., Beverly Clark of Wichita; companion, Ann Brown of Augusta-five grandchildren.
Dunsford Funeral Home of Augusta has charge of the arrangements.

Doyce Wayland

V. Doyce Wayland, 73, Augusta, died Tuesday, Dec. 9,2003.
Her funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, ; Dec. 12, at First United Methodist Church, 2420 N ! Ohio.
Visitation with family will be possible from 6:30 to 8 p.m. tonight at the church.
Mrs. Wayland was born in Izard County, Ark. and lived for many years in Andover, where she was active in the community and at Faith Baptist Church.
She loved working wit! children, and was a teacher a her church and with Chile Evangelism Fellowship. She was also employed for several years by the Andover school district.
Her survivors are: daughter Janice Wayland of Augusta; son and daughter-in-law, Rick and Denise Wayland of Augusta, daughter and son-in-law, Sandi and Grant Lowe of Boston; grandchildren, Lissa, Karri, and Luke Wayland, Henri and Flannery Lowe; step grandchildren, Jenna and Michael Gambale; three sisters and two brothers.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Wayland.
A memorial has been established with Child Evangelism Fellowship, 1109 S. Glendale, Suite 100, Wichita, 67218.
Broadway Mortuary of Wichita has charge of the arrangements.

Hazel Wyckoff

Hazel M. Wyckoff, 92, Winfield, formerly of Augusta and Douglass, ; retired registered nurse, died , Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2003.
Her funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 13, at Swisher-Taylor & Morris Funeral Home of Winfield.
Survivors are: son, James Wyckoff of Oklahoma City, Okla.; daughter, Mary Kurimsky of Derby; two grandchildren; one great-grandson.
She was preceded in death by: husband, Wayne; sister, Mary Pitts, brother, Edward Harrah.
Memorial established with Winfield Grace United Methodist Church.
Swisher-Taylor & Morris Funeral Home in Winfield is handling the arrangements.

Emily Boykin

Emily Boykin, 82, Wichita, homemaker, mother of Lester Boykin of Augusta, died Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2003.
A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday,Dec. 13, at Immanuel Baptist Church in Wichita.
Other survivors include: son, Chester of Ada, Okla.; daughters, Hallie Seright, Bev Dean, both of Wichita, Joy Boykin of Stillwater, Okla., Karen Senn of Dallas, Texas; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.
Watson Funeral Home of Wichita has charge of the arrangements.

Kenneth Helton Sr.

Kenneth W. Helton Sr., 83, Haysville, father of Kenneth W. Helton Jr. of Augusta, died today, Dec. 11,2003.
His funeral arrangements were pending this morning at the Headley Funeral Home Chapel of Augusta.

Rosemary Carter

Rosemary Carter, 86, Augusta, retired Wesley Medical Center EKG technician, died Monday, Dec. 8, 2003.
A private family funeral service will be held.
Survivors are: son, Butch Carter of Augusta; daughters, Janel White of Georgia, Rama Wolken of Augusta; sisters, Millie Jarrett of Big Cabin, Okla., Margaret Stone of Charlottesville, Va.; 11 grandchildren; 14 greatgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by husband, William Carter.
Hillside Funeral Home of Augusta has charge of the arrangements.
