Wilford Crane memorials

Memorials to the Shriner’s Orthopedic Children’s Hospital in St. Louis, Mo., have been suggested by the family of Wilford “Willie” Crane. Rogersville, Mo., who died Thursday, Jan. 29, 2004.
He was the father of Kathy Rountree of Augusta.
Cremation is planned, but the family is receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. tonight at the Greenlawn Funeral Home South in Springfield. Mo.
The 79-year-old Crane was an auto mechanic and enjoyed 32 years on the race circuit primarily in and around Southwest Missouri.
In 1968, he earned a Rookie of Race award from a NASCAR race in Atlanta, Ga.
In addition to Mrs. Rountree, he leaves daughters Vickie Cunningham and Judy Crane, both of Missouri, son Michael Crane of Arkansas, brother Billie D. Crane and sister Virginia Linebarger, also of Missouri; four grandchildren., and three great-grandchildren.
Memorials for Mr. Crane may be sent to the Shriner’s Hospital at 2001 S. Lindbergh Blvd., St. Louis, Mo., 63131-3597.

Roger J. Huff

Retired sheet metal worker Roger J. Huff, 73, Rose Hill, died Sunday, Feb. 1, 2004.
His funeral arrangments were pending this morning with the Dunsford Funeral Home of Augusta.

Nancy J. Turner

Nancy J. Turner, 63, Augusta, retired day care provider, died Saturday, Jan. 31, 2004.
Services to celebrate her life will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 4, at Headley Funeral Chapel in Augusta.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. tomorrow with family to receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. at Headley Funeral Chapel.
Survivors are: son, Mike Turner and wife, Dawn of Park City; daughters, Dee Turner and companion, Ginger Trepoy of Wichita, Laurie Nutter and husband, Grant of Augusta; brothers, Jim Cassity of Beaumont, Texas, Ted Cassity of Lubbock, Texas; seven grandchildren; four greatgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by daughter, Kimberly Susan Turner.
Memorial contributions are requested to Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice.
Headley Funeral Chapel has charge of the arrangements.

Emily Faye Catt

Emily Faye Catt, 84, Lawrence, formerly of Augusta, died Friday, Jan. 30, 2004.
Her memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 7, at the First United Methodist Church in
Augusta. Inurnment will be at Elmwood Cemetery in Augusta.
She was born on April 14, 1919 near Augusta, the daughter of Luther S. and Bertha E. (Freisener) Spillman.
She graduated from Augusta High School in 1937.
She worked at the Augusta State and Prairie State banks in Augusta and retired in 1990.
She was a member of the Augusta Hypatia Club, the National Honor Society at Augusta High School, a 50-yeary member of the Order of the Eastern Star where she was a past worthy matron. She was also a member of the First United Methodist Church in Augusta.
She married Charles L. Catt on Sept. 3, 1938 in Augusta. He preceded her in death.
Survivors include: sons, George L. Catt of Lawrence, John S. Catt of Wellington; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.
Memorial donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church in Augusta, or Lawrence Presbyterian Manor Good Samaritan Fund may be sent in care of the Warren-McElwain Mortuary, 120 W. 13th St., Lawrence, 66044.
