Roger J. Huff

Roger J. Huff, 73, Rose Hill, retired sheet metal worker and United States Air Force technical sergeant serving during the Korean War, died Sunday, Feb. 1, 2004.
His funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursdav.
Feb. 5, at Dunsford Funeral Chapel in Augusta.
Visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 4, at the funeral home.
Survivors are: wife, Elsie Huff of Rose Hill; stepson, Roger Meeks of Rose Hill; brother, Gary Huff of Neodesha; grandsons, Shane Meeks, Chris Meeks, Bob Meeks; great-grandchildren, Ashley, Zacharee, Aunikka.
Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Kansas.
Dunsford Funeral Home of Augusta has charge of the arrangements.

Barbara Burns

Barbara Burns, 73, Northridge, Calif., formerly of Augusta, died Saturday, Jan. 30, 2004.
Her funeral service was held today, Feb. 4, in Grenada Hills, Calif.
Barbara was born on Oct. 2, 1931 in Augusta, the youngest daughter of Fred and Nellie Thompson.
She graduated from Augusta High School in 1949 where she had been a cheerleader.
She married Orbrey Burns on March 31, 1950.
After living in Georgia for two years, they settled in Northridge in 1958, where she spent the rest of her life in her dream house.
For the past 18 years, Barbara worked as an administrator for North Hills Retirement Center, devoting her life to helping others, and gaining a new extended family.
She was known for her sly wit and gentle heart. She was happiest when surrounded by family and friends and doted over each child as her family grew. She loved the beach, antique shopping and had a fondness for sunflowers.
Survivors are brother, J.D. Thompson; in-laws, Pete and Barb Burns, Jane Burns, Betsy Thompson; Charlene Thompson, Lowell Upchurch, and Melba Thompson; children, Shan and Frank Haider, Kent and Lisa Burns, Kurt and Mercedes Burns, Kyle and Mary Burns; grandchildren, Craig Haider, Nicole Haider, Julie and Neil Coffman, Jan David and Stacey Ippoliti, Tyler Burns, Cody Burns, Travis Burns, Ethan Burns, Alejandro Llamas, Andrew Burns, Connor Burns and Ian Burns; great-grandchildren, Natasha Haider, Ian Richardson, Lauren
Lindstrom and Aidan Coffman. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the AIDS Foundation of Los Angeles, 7336 Bel Aire Avenue, North Hollywood, CA 91605.
Utter-McKinley Mortuary of Mission Hills, Calif., had charge of the arrangements.

Alice J. Tucker

Alice Jean Tucker, 76, Wellington, retired Kansas Turnpike Authority toll collector, mother of Ruth Allen of Augusta, died Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2004.
Her funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 13, at Prairie Lawn Cemetery in Wellington.
Other survivors include: sister, Lois Babb of Belle Plaine; six grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
Frank Funeral Home of Wellington has charge of the arrangements.
