Nedra E. Smith
Nedra E. Smith, 93, Wichita, formerly of Douglass, died Tuesday, March 23, 2004.
Her funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 27, at the New Albany United Methodist Church.
Visitation will be at the church from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. before the service. Burial will be in the Weakley Cemetery near New Albany.
Survivors are: daughters, Betty Taylor of Valley Center, Earlene Hunzeker of Independence; sisters,
Robbinett Greenwell of Winfield, Issabel Greenwell of Bow, Wash.; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by grandson, Jason Vanderpool.
A memorial has been established with New Albany United Methodist Church.
Timmons Funeral Home of Fredonia has charge of the arrangements.
Monte D. Calvin
Monte D. Calvin, 60, Bainbridge Island, Wash., husband of former Augustan Darnella Guy, died Friday, March 19,2004.
A graveside service will be held-at 11 a.m. Friday, March 26, at Elmwood Cemetery in Augusta.
In addition to his wife, other survivors include: son, Brian Calvin of Gainesville, Fla.; daughter, Jennifer Calvin of Redmond, Wash.; brothers, Lyle Calvin of Corvallis, Ore., Dean Calvin of Broomfield, Colo., Max Calvin of Tucson, Ariz.; two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, David and Muriel Calvin, and brother, Don Calvin.
A memorial has been established with Bainbridge Island Library, 1270 Madison, N. Bainbridge Island, WA, 98110.
Cochran Mortuary of Wichita is handling the local arrangements.
Leland Hopper
Leland Hopper, 82, Winfield, father of Glen Hopper of Augusta, died Wednesday, March 17, 2004.
Graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, March 19, at Greenlawn Cemetery in Grenola.
Other survivors include: wife, Ada of the home; sons, Terry and Jerry of Winfield, Johnny of Derby; two brothers; 10 grandchildren.
Swisher-Taylor & Morris Funeral Home of Winfield has charge of the arrangements.
Floyd F. Moore
Floyd F. Moore, 76, Augusta, retired Boeing Aircraft sheet metal worker, died Thursday, March 25, 2004.
His funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 27, at the Augusta Assembly of God Church.
Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday, with family present from 4 to 6 p.m. at I Dunsford Funeral Home Chapel in Augusta.
Survivors include: son, Russell Moore of Augusta; daughters, Cynda Dixon, Karen Bartels, both of Augusta; brothers, James, Ivan, Murel, Millard, all of Arkansas; sisters, Ruth Moore, Jean Ray, both of Ft. Smith, Ark., Gladys Moore of Van Buren, Ark.; nine grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren.
