Herman Schwein
Herman Schwein, 92, Augusta, former owner of Herman’s Tavern in Hosington, died Wednesday, r March 31, 2004.
His funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, April 5, at the Hosington Cemetery.
L Survivors are son Rick of Texas, daughter, Kim Spickard of Wichita, sister, Thelma Harper of Salina; four grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.
Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home of Hosington has charge of the arrangements.
Helen Louise Stemen
Helen Louise (Reetz) Stemen, 93, Augusta, retired Cooper Drug clerk, died Sunday, March 28, 2004.
Her funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 3, at the First United Methodist Church in Augusta.
Her survivors are: nephew Roger Reetz of Springfield, Mo.; aunt Nydene Reetz of Augusta; several other nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by husband Richard Stemen.
Memorial has been established with First United Methodist Church in Augusta.
Hillside Funeral Home of Augusta is handling the arrangements.
Dorothy L. Boyer
Dorothy L. Boyer, 90, Rose Hill, retired V.A. dietician, died Tuesday, March 30, 2004.
Her funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 3, at Hillside Funeral Home Chapel in Augusta. Burial will be at 2 p.m. at St. Michaels Cemetery in Fulton.
Survivors are: daughter, Alice Homes of Rose Hill; sister, Mildred Todd of Fort Scott; daughter-in-law, Wanda Pierce of Wichita; 11
grandchildren; 27 greatgrandchildren; 23 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by: her parents,
George and Luecretia Rei; brother, George Rei; son, Thomas Pierce; son-in-law, Patrick Holmes; grandchildren, Mark and Christine Upton.
Hillside Funeral Home of Augusta has charge of the arrangements.
Stanley Rawlings
Former Augustan Stanley Rawlings of Columbia, Mo., died on Oct. 31, 2003.
The family will hold a cremation burial at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 6, at Elmwood Cemetery in Augusta.
There is no service planned but the family would enjoy visiting with his friends.
Maurice M. Hammond
Maurice M. Hammond, 84, Augusta, retired from Mobil Pipe Line, died Thursday, April 8, 2004. Graveside
service will be . held at 11 > a.m. on ! Monday, April 21, at ' Elmwood Cemetery in Augusta. Those attending should
use the Ohio Street entrance.
Visitation with family present will be from 3 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, April 11, at Hillside Funeral Home in Augusta.
His survivors are: wife, Marjorie of Augusta; son, Steve Hammond of Olathe; step sons, Jim Auer of Texas, Vic Auer of El Dorado; daughters, Judy Patton of Wichita, Kathy Raber of Augusta; step daughter, Laura Swan of Augusta; 13 grandchildren; five greatgrandchildren.
Memorial established with Christ Lutheran Church in Augusta.
Arrangements are under the direction of Hillside Funeral Home of Augusta.
