Mary L. Darrah
Homemaker and former Augusta resident Mary Lovetta Darrah, 80, Lyons, died Thursday, June 24, 2004.
Her funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 1, at First Christian Church in Lyons. Burial will follow at Lyons Municipal Cemetery.
Survivors include: husband, Emmitt Darrah of the home; son, Robert Darrah of Overland Park; daughter, Carolyn Ring of Manhattan; brother, Delmar Blandin of
Augusta; sister, Lois Hilton of McPherson; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by: parents, William and Ina May (Stenson) Blandin; infant daughter, Janet Ann Darrah; brother, Raymond Blandin.
Memorial established with Alzheimer’s Foundation.
Arrangements are under the direction of Sillin Funeral Home in Lyons.
Brock L. Gill
Brock L. Gill, 53, Benton, maintenance supervisor of Circle school district, died Sunday, June 27, 2004.
His funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 30, at Carlson Funeral Home in El Dorado. Burial will follow in the Benton Cemetery.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 3 p.m. on Wednesday at the Benton Middle School.
Survivors include: his parents, Bernie and Doris Gill of Benton; sister, Jill Gottschalk of Benton; two nephews; one niece.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents and a brother.
Memorial donations may be made to Hospice Care of Kansas.
Carlson Funeral Home of El Dorado has charge of the arrangements.
Velma Howard
Velma Mae (Harris) Howard, 89, Augusta, homemaker and retired cook, died Tuesday, June 29, 2004. Her funeral service will be held at 2 pm, Friday at the Augusta First Baptist Church.
Visitation will be 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. tomorrow at Hillside Funeral Home in Augusta.
Survivors include: husband, Maurice; son, Clayton (Carol) Howard of Show Low, Ariz.; daughters, Barbara (Gary) Peak of Andover, Shirley
Segerhammar of Augusta; son-in-law, Darrell Winters of Wichita; brother, Francis Harris of Sedan; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grand daughter.
Memorial established with First Baptist Church, 1501 State, Augusta, 67010.
Arrangements are under the direction of Hillside Funeral Home in Augusta.
Dale L. Taylor
Dale L. Taylor, 76, Wichita, retired Sedgwick County electrical inspector and brother of Finace Taylor of Augusta, died Friday, July 2, 2004.
His funeral service was held Monday, July 5, at Resthaven Mortuary in Wichita. Other survivors include: wife, Arlene; sons, Larry of Scott City, Terry of Haysville; brother, Lyle of Jenks, Okla.; sister, Beverly Lee of Wichita; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.
A memorial has been established with American Heart Association and Teens for Christ, 662 Seventh St., Phillipsburg, Kans., 67661.
Arrangements were under the direction of Resthaven Mortuary of Wichita.
Taleesha C. Pratt
Taleesha C. Pratt, 20, Augusta, died in an auto accident in Colorado on Friday, July 2, 2004.
Her service arrangements were pending this morning with Dunsford Funeral Home of Augusta.
A memorial fund has been established for her daughter Michaela at Towanda State Bank.
