Leonard E. Kuhn
Former Augusta resident Leonard E. “Len” Kuhn, 82, Charlotte, N.C., died Wednesday, June 12, 2004.
A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. on Sunday, June 27, at McEwen Funeral Service, Pineville Chapel in Charlotte.
Mr-Kuhn was born in Salina on Feb. 14, 1922.
Following graduation from Salina High School and Brown Mackie Business College he married Golda Schaffer in 1942.
He was employed by the Union Pacific Railroad in Cheyenne, Wyo.
This veteran of World War II served in the 703rd Railroad Grand Division in North Africa and Europe.
He attended Kansas University achieving a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering in 1951.
After KU graduation he was employed by Mobil Oil Corporation until his retirement in 1984.
While with Mobil, he held numerous assignments in the United States and spent 15 years abroad. He was a resident of Charlotte since 1984.
Len was an easy person to get to know and created many laughs with his sense of humor. He enjoyed his family, friends, and golf. He will be greatly missed by the many who knew him.
His survivors include: his wife Golda; daughter, Kris (Robert) Weinshilboum, son, Stephen (Sandra) Kuhn; three grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by: parents, Chris and Caroline Kuhn; brother, Chris Kuhn Jr.; grandson, Stephen Kuhn II.
The family requests in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 500 E. Morehead St., Suite 211, Charlotte, N.C., 28202.
Arrangements are being handled by McEwen Funeral Service, Pineville Chapel of Charlotte, N.C.


Marguerite Linot

Homemaker Marguerite Linot, 90, Derby, died Thursday, June 24, 2004.
Her rosary will be at 7 p.m. this evening, June 25, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Derby. The funeral will be in the church at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 26.
She is survived by: sons, Tom of Rose Hill, John of Douglass, Joe of El Dorado; daughters, Betty Roberts of Broken Arrow, Okla., Marjorie Roberts of Douglass, Mary Ann Peters of Davis, Okla.; brothers, John Engels of Rose Hill, Clarence Engels of Wichita; sisters, Irene Ridder, Elizabeth Ann Engels, both of Wichita; 27 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by: parents, Matthew and Elizabeth (Brady) Engels; husband, Maynard; brothers, Bill, Joe, Lawrence, Bob; sister, Mary Ridder.
Memorial established with St. Mary’s Building Fund in Derby.
Arrangements are under direction of DeVorss Flanagan-Hunt Mortuary of Wichita.

Bernadee Gauntt

Bernadee L. Gaunt, 73, Wichita, teacher and nurse, formerly of Augusta, died Monday, July 5, 2004.
Her funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 9, at the Penwell-Gabel Mass-Hinitt Chapel in Junction City. Burial will be at Highland Cemetery in Junction City.
Survivors include: brothers, Calvin Gauntt of Milford and Virgil Gauntt of Junction City; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by; her parents, Dewey and Clara Johnson Gauntt; sister, Violet Ostland; brothers, Harry Gauntt and Herbert Gauntt.
Arrangements are under the direction of Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home of Junction City.

Taleesha C. Pratt

Taleesha C. Pratt, 20, Augusta, died in an auto accident in Colorado on Friday, July 2, 2004.
Her service arrangements were pending this morning with Dunsford Funeral Home of Augusta.
A memorial fund has been established for her daughter Michaela at Towanda State Bank.
