Oscar L. Evenson

Oscar L. Evenson, 85, El Dorado, died Wednesday, July 14, 2004.
His service arrangements were pending this morning with Headley Funeral Chapel of Augusta.

Arthur Ray Howlett

Arthur Ray Howlett, 57, Douglass, retired Boeing Aircraft employee and United States Navy veteran, died Sunday, July 11, 2004.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 17, at Lakeview Funeral Home in Wichita.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday.
Survivors are: wife, Sandra Kay; son, Clifton Ray of Wichita; daughter, Carrie Lynn Rosenkrance of Mulvane; honorary daughter, Cynthia Anne Brown of Denver, Colo.; three grandchildren; sisters, Jessie Jantz of Dallas, Texas, Joyce Hill of Fort Worth, Texas; brothers, Marvin Glenn of Thornton, Colo., Harold Dean of Lenexa, Huebner Bruce of Mulvane; two aunts, many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Arrangements are under the direction of Lakeview Funeral Home of Wichita.

Richard K. Moore

Richard K. Moore, 71, La Porte, Ind., retired secondary high school teacher and coach, died Wednesday, July 14, 2004. He was a United States Marine Corps veteran and a former teacher-coach in Augusta.
His funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, July 19, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in La Porte. Burial will be at Pine Lake Columbarium in La Porte.
Survivors include: wife, Joan Moore; sons, Michael of Colwich; Thomas of Wichita, and Robert of Andover; sister, Barbara Casselman of New Buffalo, Mich.; three grandsons and two step grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Edna (Stupeck) Moore and sister, Delores McCasslin.

Oscar L. Evenson

Farmer Oscar L. Evenson, 85, El Dorado, died Wednesday, July 14, 2004.
A service to celebrate his life will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 17, at Headley Funeral Chapel in Augusta. Interment will be at Ladd Cemetery, northwest of Eureka.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, July 16, with family to greet friends from 7 to 8 p.m.
Mr. Evenson was born northwest of Eureka on Jan. 14, 1919, the son of the late Christopher and Lena (Erickson) Evenson. He was one of 10 children. He worked in the oil fields around El Dorado and retired from the refinery in El Dorado.
On Dec. 21,1947 he married Doris Marie Simmons in Emporia. She preceded
him in death on Aug. 8, 1987. A grandson, Don Evenson preceded him in death as well.
Survivors include: sons, Logan and his wife, Barbara Evenson of Augusta, Arne and his wife, Raylin Evenson of Pretty Prairie, Ray and wife, Susan Evenson of El Dorado; daughters, Sharon Dennis and husband, E.C. of Great Bend, Mary Patton and husband, Daryl of Garnett, Lois Carson and husband, David of El Dorado; sisters, Lida Moreland of Wichita, Louise Hamby of Parker, Colo., Fern Wernli of Gridley, Colo., Leona Stroud of Wichita; grandchildren, Tina Evenson, Julie Tipton, Greg Evenson, Kari Hutchinson, Page Pound, Melissa and Miranda Patton, Jeramy and Amy Evenson; great-grandchildren, Abby, Garrett and Emma Tipton.

Headley Funeral Chapel of Augusta has charge of the arrangements.
