Larry E. Hammonds

Larry E. Hammonds, 59, Wichita, Raytheon employee and United States Navy veteran, died Monday, July 19, 2004.
His funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 24, at Dunsford Funeral Home Chapel in Augusta.
Visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, July 23, at Dunsford Funeral Home.
Survivors include: wife. Teressa Hammonds of Wichita; sisters, Betty Kochase of Wichita and Nancy Landis of Oklahoma.
Memorial contributions may be made to the V.A. Hospital or Salvation Army.
Arrangements are under the direction of Dunsford Funeral Home of Augusta.

Cathy Mahlandt

Cathy Mahlandt, 38, Rose Hill, died Sunday, July 18, 2004.
Her Rosary will be at 7 p.m. this evening; funeral mass at 2 p.m Wednesday, both at St. James Catholic Church in Augusta. Burial will follow in Richland Cemetery, Douglass.
Visitation from 1 to 5 p.m. this evening at Smith Mortuary in Derby.
Survivors are: husband, Kerry; sons, Matthew and Karl; daughter, Savannah, all of the home; parents, Bill and Marycile Beer of Harper; brothers Jim Beer of Pretty Prairie, Keith Beer of Dexter; sister, Shirlee Ungerer of Casper, Wyo.; mother-in-law, Alpha Mahlandt of Rose Hill; numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked memorials be made to Cathy Mahlandt Memorial Fund, in care of Mulvane State Bank.
Smith Mortuary of Derby has charge of the arrangements.

Velma June Pilant

Velma June Pilant, 71, Wichita, mother of Jesse Pilant of Augusta, died on Tuesday, July 20, 2004.
Her funeral service was held this morning, July 23, at First United Methodist Church in Wichita.
Survivors include: sister, Nadine Gilbert of Sapulpa, Okla.; other children, Burnadine Day, Arthur Pilant, Donna Stites, Lona Kelly, and Neta Ferguson; 13 grandchildren; four greatgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by husband, Bumie.
Memorial established with Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, 313 S. Market, Wichita, 67202.
Hillside Funeral Home West of Wichita handled the arrangements.

Clarence Hugh Miller

Clarence Hugh Miller, 79, Augusta, retired co-owner of Miller Parts Co. and a IJnited States Navy veteran, died on Wednesday, July 21, 2004.
His funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 24, at Hillside Funeral Home in Augusta.
Viewing hours will be from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., with
family present from 6 to 8 p.m. tonight, July 23, at Hillside Funeral Home of Augusta on West Sixth Street.
He was an original member of the Charlie Dunn Baseball organization, an active member of the Moose Lodge, VFW, American Legion, Masonic Lodge, and the Shrine.
Survivors include: wife, Jeannie Miller; daughter, Judy Cyphers and husband, Mike of Wichita; daughter, Sharon Miller and William Moag of Augusta; brother, Frank Miller, Sr. and wife, Hilda of Augusta; nephew, Frank Miller, Jr. and wife, Nancy of El Dorado; three grandchildren, Pamela Braden and husband, Darrell and their three children, Jon Cyphers and wife, Alissa, and Dominic Miller; mother-in-law, Valyne Elliott of Hutchinson; step sons, David Long and Phillip Long and wife, Trish of El Dorado; step daughters, Pamela McDaniel and husband, Denny of Cassoday, Patricia Daniels of Union Town, Paula Hattan and husband, Alan of El Dorado; eight step grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bud and Ivon Miller and his first wife, Alice.
Memorials have been established with the Shriners Hospital for Children, c/o Plane of Mercy Fund in Wichita, and Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice of Wichita.
Hillside Funeral Home of Augusta has charge of the arrangements.
