Gordon Man Dies At 95
Clarence E. Kennedy, 95, Gordon, died Tuesday, July 5, at the Augusta Medical Complex.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, July 8, at Kirby-Morris Funeral Home in El Dorado. Burial will follow at Sunset Lawns Cemetary in El Dorado. Rev. Burl Allison Jr. will officate.
Kennedy was born on Jan. 12, 1888 in Dodge City to George and Rebecca Kennedy. On Dec. 25, 1914, he married Florence Christensen. She preceeded him in death on May 5, 1982. Kennedy was a retired oil field worker.
He is survived by two sons, Earl, of Mt. Hope and Jack of Park Hill, Okla. He is also survived by a daughter, Mrs. Ralph (Elda) Cooly, also of Park Hill. Other survivers include six grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
McBeth Dies At 65
Harold McBeth, 65, Leon, died Wednesday at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.
His service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Leon Christian Church. Rev. Art Wilson, Rev. Tony Venturella and Rev. Chester Bodenhamer will officiate. Burial will be at the Leon Cemetery.
Memorial have been established with the American Leukemia Society and Wesley Medical Center.
He was born Nov. 14, 1917 in Cleveland, Kan., to W.C. and Vina Kabler McBeth.
He married Lorene Padgett Jan. 14, 1939 in Manhattan. She survives.
He was a farmer and cattleman.
He was a member of the Augusta Saddle Club and director of the Butler County Livestock Association.
Survivors also sons, John of Burden, Tom of Latham; daughters, Sharon Ciskey of Eureka, Kathleen Murray of Pittsburg and 13 grandchildren.
Mother Dies
Lavenia Helen Somers, 77, Bonner Springs, mother of Francis Wallace Jr. of Augusta, died Tuesday.
Her service will be at 3 p.m. Friday at the Resthaven Mortuary in Wichita.
Other survivors include daughters, Mary Wilcox of Bonner Springs, Lenora Moses, Evelyn Palacio, both of Wichita, Grace Collins of Maybanks, Texas; brothers, Robert Ryan, Emitt, both of payette, Idaho; 30 grandchildren and 39 great-grandchildren.

Marie Arnold Died Today
Marie Arnold, 63, 129 Main, died early this morning at the Augusta Medical Complex.
Her service will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Dunsford Funeral Home. Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery.
A memorial has been established with the Diabetes Association.
She was born Sept. 20, 1919 in Seaman, Ohio.
Survivors include her husband, Gordon, and a sister, Maxine Standley of Wichita.

Ethelda Glen Perrine, 72, Wichita, sister of Jeri Wilson of Augusta, died Thursday at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.
Services will be at the Cochran Mortuary in Wichita at 1:30 p.m. Sunday. Rev. Charles Chipman will officiate.
Additional services will be at the United Methodist Church in Hume, Mo., at 1:30 p.m. Monday. Rev. Chipman and Rev. Mark Oskee will officiate. Burial will be in the Hume Cemetery.
A memorial has been established with St. Paul's United Methodist Church, 1356 N. Broadway, Wichita, Kan., 67214.
She was born Jan. 11, 1911 in Aurora, Mo., to Grene and Samantha Anna Blalack.
She married Harland H. Perrine in Wichita Jan. 27, 1929. He survivies.
She was a homemaker. She was very active in the St Paul's United Methodist Church and was a member of the United Methodist Women, the EHU, the Jefferson Jerferettes and and the Fidelis Sunday School Class.
Survivors also include a daughter, Marjorie Pearl Van Vranken of Ohama, Neb.; brother, Charles Blalack, Mesa, Ariz.; sisters, Tressa Herrington. Mesa. Ann Noffsinger of Wichita, Dorothy Rathbun of Des Moines, Iowa; stepsister, Molly Richey of Wichita; step-brother, Tom Newcomer of California; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Robert Tomlin, 72, Protection, brother of Ruth Bacon of Leon and Alberta Starkey of Douglass, died Monday at his home.
His service will be at 11 a.m Thursday at the Hatfield-Prusa Funeral Home in Coldwater. Rev. G.E. Robey will officiate and burial will be in the Protection, Kan., cemetery.
A memorial has been established with the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
He was born Juy 31, 1910 in Atlanta to Ed and Ocea Johnson Tomlin.
He married Jessie Price Feb. 27, 1932 in Winfield. She survives.
He was a retired journeyman steel worker.
Other survivors include daughter, Janet Allen of Medford, Ore.; a brother, Mort Tomlin of Arkansas City; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
