Mother DiesIn Chanute
Nellie Bailey, 97, Chanute, mother of Colleen Cheney of Leon, died there Sunday.
Her service was at 1:30 p.m. today at the Johnson Mortuary in Chanute. Burial was in the Earlton, Kan., cemetery.
Memorials have been established with the Gideon’s International Bible Service.
She was born in Hamilton, Mo., and moved with her parents to rural Thayer when she was 12.
She married Charles Bailey Feb. 19, 1907. He died in 1956.
Other survivors include two sons, Bert and Dave, both of Topeka.

W.J. White Dies At 71
William J. White, 71, Pratt, brother-in-law of Alta Goodman of Augusta, died Sunday.
His service will be at 4 p.m. Thursday at the Ayres-Calbeck Mortuary in Pratt.
Other survivors include his wife, Imogene; daughters, Marge Muth of Wichita, Myrna Hershey of Lompoc, Calif.; brothers, John of Pratt, Donald of Liberal; sister, Orpha McKnett of Florence, Colo., and two grandchildren.

Father Dies In Wichita
Gilbert C. Ohmart, 88, Wichita, father of Edward Ohmart of Augusta, died Wednesday at a Wichita nursing home.
His service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Resthaven Mortuary in Wichita. Pastor Lyle Mitchell will officiate and burial will be at the Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
He was born May 17, 1895 in Camden County, Missouri to Frank and Rosie Sears Ohmart.
He was a retired self employed laborer.
Survivors include another son, Billy of Wichita; daughters, Alberta Ferguson of Florence, Violet Thomas and Maxine McDonald, both of Oklahoma City, Okla., Charlotte Wilcox of Wichita, and Betty Scott of Salina; 26 grandchildren; 54 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

O.L. Gibson Dies At 83
Orville LeRoy Gibson, 83, Augusta, died today at the Augusta Medical Complex.
His service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Mt. Hope Chapel at the Mt. Hope Cemetery in Topeka.
He was born Aug. 27, 1899 in Kansas.
He married Margaret Arnold Aug. 28, 1918 in Kansas. She survives.
He was a traveling salesman.
Survivors include a son, Robert Gibson of McAllen, Texas; daughters, Phyllis Torkelson, Margaret Nicely, both of Augusta, Kathrine Brown, Shirley Brown, both of Topeka and Jean Worrall of Freport, Ill.; a brother, Phillip Gibson of Topeka ; sisters, Leah McAdow, Lois McRenolds, both of Topeka; 32 grandchildren and 68 great-grandchildren.

W.A. Lackey Dies At 79
W.A. “Bill” Lackey, 79, Valley Center, a brother of Mrs. Emerson Clippinger and Raymond Lackey of Augusta, died Wednesday at the St. Francis Regional Medical Center in Wichita.
His funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. tomorrow at the First Baptist Church in Valley Center. Burial will be in the Dunlop Cemetery at Rose Hill.
A memorial has been established with the church.
The retired Kansas Grain Department employee was born Sept. 17, 1903 to Hiram D. and Pearl Taylor Lackey on a farm near Rose Hill.
Other survivors include his wife, Viola; a son, Raleigh of Valley Center; a daughter, Vivian Denison of Leawood; eight grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
The Cochran Mortuary of Wichita is in charge of arrangements.

Grandson Dies In Wichita
Joshua C. Church, infant grandson of Earl and Doris Gooding of Augusta, died Wednesday at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.
Graveside services were at 1 p.m. today at Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Rev. Terry Baker officiated.
Survivors also include his parents, Tom and Earlene Gooding Church of Rose Hill; a brother, Travis of the home; other grandparents, Burl and Lilly Mulder and Marvin and Flossie Church, all of Wichita.
