Marvin L. Kaiser

Marvin L. Kaiser, 82, Winfield, brother of Virgil Kaiser of Augusta, died Thursday, Nov. 25, at William Newton Hospital.
His funeral service was held this 10 a.m. today, Nov. 29, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Winfield. Interment was at 3 p.m. this afternoon in the Durham Park Cemetery at Durham.
This retired custom cutter also leaves his wife, Bernice; two sons, a daughter, another brother, 11 grandchildren, eight greatgrandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
Memorials in Mr. Kaiser’s name are suggested for Trinity Lutheran Church and Trinity Lutheran School.
The Miles Funeral Home of Winfield was in charge of arrangements.

James E. Barnes

James Earl Barnes, 65, El Dorado, left our lives too soon Nov. 26, 2004.
His footprints were known by many who hold close the memories of his strength, wisdom, and humor.
He was born Dec. 31, 1938 in Roxana, Texas, to Purl and Minnie (Williams) Barnes.
Jim retired in 1984 from Mobil Refinery after working his entire life in refineries around the El Dorado nd Augusta area.
Jim is survived by his wife, Pat, of the home; daughter, Jennifer Rhea of Tijeras, N.M.; son and wife, James Aaron and Joung Hwa Barnes of Godmanchester, England, son and wife, Jason and Sherry Barnes of Wichita; granddaughters Ethene, Ashley, and Jacqui; sister Barbara Gaines of
Eureka; stepdaughter and husband, Kyla and Clay Ruhl of Newton, stepdaughter and husband Kim and Ton Ottaway of Pocatello, Idaho; stepson and wife, Jeff and Laura Woford of Claremore, Okla.
“Grandpa Jim” also leaves his step-grandchildren, Rick, Josh, Matt, Jenny, Noah, and Philip. He joins his granddaughter Mallory, who died June 20, 2004. Jim is also survived by his “family of choice” for the past 24 years, his fellow members of Alcoholics Anonymous.
Visitation with the family from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 30, at Hillside Funeral Home/Augusta Chapel, 1217 W. Sixth. A celebration of Jim’s life will be held at a later date.

Mattie Lee Lawson

Mattie Lee Lawson, 82, Andover, homemaker and mother of Gary Lawson of Augusta, died on Friday, Dec. 3, 2004.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 9, at Faith Baptist Church in Andover.
Visitation with family will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 8, at Downing & Lahey Mortuary East in Wichita.
Other survivors include: son, Jerry Lawson of Heath, Ohio; daughter, Karen Conger of Andover; three grandchildren; three greatgrandchildren.
A memorial has been established with Faith Baptist Church in Andover.
Downing & Lahey Mortuary East of Wichita is handling the arrangements.

AUGUSTA - Winzer, Mary Frances, 78, passed away on Dec. 7, 2004. She retired as a medical assistant with Anderson and Barber Family Practice from 1964 to 1986. Survivors: son, Ken Bohon and wife, Kerry, Augusta; daughters, Cathy Wheeler and husband, Jim, Glendale, AZ,
Connie Dean and husband, Jim, Gardner, KS; stepson, Dennis Schnabel, Wichita; stepdaughter, Kim Olds and husband, Terry, Wichita; brother, Don Wentz and wife, Nelva, Augsuta;
sister, Pat Stanley and husband, Bob, Augusta; 8 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren. Visitation 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, with family present from 6 to 8 p.m., Headley Funeral Chapel of Augusta; services 10 a.m. Saturday, First Christian Church, Augusta.
Memorials to First Christian Church and American Diabetes Association.
