Velma L. Ash

Velma L. Ash, 91, Augusta, passed away on Monday, Dec. 20, 2004.
Her funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 23, at Headley Funeral Chapel in Augusta.
Visitation from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. with family present from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 22.
Mrs. Ash worked in retail sales at Calverts’ in Augusta, as well as other places. She had also been a school teacher and apartment manager.
On July 27,1936 she married Charles Alex Ash. He preceded her in death.
She is survived by son, Charles and his wife, Shirley Ash of Gilbert, Ariz.; daughter, Lois and her husband, Raymond Bird of Augusta; brother, Eugene Ruddick of Albuquerque, N.M.; sister, Virginia Cooper of Mesa, Ariz.; grandchildren, Brian Bird and wife, Shannon of Augusta, Stephanie Bird of Wichita; great-grandchildren, Kelsey and Savannah Bird.
Memorials may be made to American Diabetes Association and Maude Carpenter’s Children’s Home.
Arrangements are under the direction of Headley Funeral Chapel of Augusta.

John Fenn

John “Jack” Fenn, 72, Wichita, automotive parts salesman, father and father-in-law of Dennis and Vicki Fenn of Augusta, died Monday, Dec. 20, 2004.
Memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 23, at Broadway Mortuary Chapel in Wichita.
Other survivors include: wife, Shirley; son, Mark of Valley Center; daughter, Deborah of Wichita; brother, James of S.C.; sister, Esther Murdock of Fla.; five grandchildren; seven great-greatgrandchildren.
Memorials to Veterans Association.
Broadway Mortuary of Wichita is handling the arrangements.
Therza Stinnett

Therza Stinnett, 91, Emporia, formerly of Augusta, retired statistical analyst for Beech Aircraft, died on Sunday, Dec. 19, 2004.
Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 23, at Dunsford Funeral Home in Augusta. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery in Augusta.
Visitation with family will be held at the funeral home prior to the service.
Mrs. Stinnett was born on July 15,1913 in Hardy, Okla, the daughter of Amzi C. and Anna Pearl (Newland) Riley. She moved to Augusta in 1925 from Oklahoma. She married Clinton H. Sinnett on June 16, 1936 in
Augusta. He preceded her in death on Dec. 4,1994.
Survivors include: son, Eugene Stinnett of Lancaster, Calif.; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by: a daughter, Sharon; three brothers, Walton, Orville and Therman (her twin); sister, Letha R. Walworth:
Memorials may be made to the First Christian Church of Augusta.
Arrangements are under the direction of Charter Funerals in Emporia.

Evelyn C. Cline

Evelyn C. Cline, 88, Augusta, retired appliance assembler at Advanced Products, passed away Friday, Dec. 31, 2004.
Rosary at 6 p.m. this evening and Mass at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 4, both at St. James Catholic Church in Augusta.
Her survivors are: sons, Gary Cline of Douglass and Mike Cline of El Dorado; daughter, Barbara Pfeiffer of Augusta; sisters, Irene Mason of Wheatridge, Colo., Josephine Burke of Salina, and Jerry Hughes of Abilene; 10 grandchildren; 24 greatgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene; daughter, Judy; four sisters; Mary, Lucille, Frances and Annie; one grandchild, Tim.
Memorials to Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice.
Arrangements are under the direction of Headley Funeral Chapel of Augusta.

Bert A. Williams

Bert A. Williams, 82, Wichita, retired Boeing analyst, brother of Frances Trapp of Augusta, died Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2004.
Funeral service was held today at the Cedar Chapel United Methodist Church.
Other survivors include: son, Randy of Derby and Patrick of Chester, Va.; daughter, Bonnie McCarthy of Wichita; 10 grandchildren; one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris.
Memorials may be made to Cedar Chapel United Methodist Church.
Broadway Mortuary of Wichita handled the arrangements.
