Mother Dies In Moundridge
Esther Roth, 82, Moundridge, mother of Laura Tinkler of Augusta, died today at the Mercy Hospital in Moundridge.
Her service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the United Methodist Church in Moundridge. Rev. Mehl Cruit will officiate and burial will be at the Mound Township Cemetery in Moundridge.
A memorial has been established with the United Methodist Church in Moundridge.
She was born Jan. 12, 1901 in Hennessey, Okla., to Paul and Tena Wickert Suenram.
She married Emanuel Roth Nov. 17, 1919 at Moundridge. He died March 25, 1978.
She was owner and operator of the Roth Cafe in Moundridge many years.
She was a member of the Moundridge United Methodist Church.
Other survivors include a son, Earl of Arlington; another daughter, Elinor Parks of Newton; two brothers, Raymond Suenram of Halstead and Robert Suenram of McPherson; a sister, Edna Coates of Blackwell, Okla., three grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Harder-Kaufman Funeral Home in Moundridge is in charge of arrangements.

Eron J. Chandler Died On July 26
Eron Jessie Chandler, 84, Louisville, Miss., father of Harris Chandler of Augusta, died Tuesday, July 26, at the Winston County Hospital there.
His service was Thursday, July 28, at the Gum Branch Baptist Church. Rev. James Yarbrough and Rev. Arnold Davis officiated. Burial was in the Bethel Cemetery.
He was born March 23, 1899 in Winston County, Mississippi.
He married Anna Lavelle Bradberry. She survives.
He was a member of the Carpenter’s Union 1471 and the Gum Branch Baptist Church. He was a retired carpenter.
Others relatives include daughters, Nelda Jones of Jackson, Miss., Linda Thigpen of Picayune, Miss., Shirley Barber of Memphis, Tenn., and Mary Pace of Jackson; a brother, Orland Chandler, and a sister, Gertrude Chandler, both of Louisville, Miss.; 15 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Service At Dunsfords
Services for Douglas Gene Howerter, 20, Wichita, were at 2 p.m. today at the Dunsford Funeral Home.
The service location was incorrectly reported in Tuesday’s Gazette. Rev. Tom Blakeley officiated and burial was at the Elmwood Cemetery.
A memorial has been established with the Aviation Education Center of the Wichita Area Vocational Technical School.
Howerter died Sunday, July 31, in a work-related accident at the Mid-Continent Airport in Wichita.
Survivors include his parents, Gene and Susan Howerter of Topeka; his mother, Karen Kay Horning; a brother, Chris Garner of Topeka and sisters, Amy and Megan Garner of Topeka.
He lived in Augusta four years. In 1981 he graduated from Topeka West High School.
He was a member of the Top-Class Airplane Club in Wichita and a former member of the Capitol City Radio Control Airplane Club.
He built his life around aviation. He was a pilot and had had a private pilot’s licence for a year. His ultimate goal was to become a corporate pilot.
He worked for Ryan Aviation in Wichita where he job included a variety of tasks including fueling airplanes, pulling airplanes out of hangars and servicing aircraft coming into and out of Ryan Aviation.
He was also a longtime member of the Combat Air Museum which has 400 members. Some of those members will participate in a flyover at the Elmwood Cemetery today.

Infant Dies In Oklahoma
Amber Dawn Palmer, infant granddaughter of Larry and JoAnn Palmer of Augusta, was stillborn Tuesday at a hospital in Ponca City, Okla.
Graveside services are at 10 a.m. Friday at the Sunset Lawn Cemetery in El Dorado. Bill Buggelin of the Augusta Church of Christ will officiate.
Other survivors include her parents, Paul and Judy Love Palmer of Ponca City; grandparents, Keith and Carol Love of El Dorado; great-grandparents, Mary Love of El Dorado, Hazel Bishop of El Dorado, and Jake and Reba Palmer of Augusta.
Friends may call at the Carlson Funeral Home in El Dorado.
