Gladys Rishel

Gladys M. Rishel, 84, formerly of Augusta, died on Saturday, May 7, 2005.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday,May 13, at Lakeview Funeral Home in Wichita.
Her survivors include: sons, Ben and Darrell; seven grandchildren; three great- grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John B. “Ben” Rishel.
Arrangements are being handled by Lakeview Funeral Home of Wichita.

Roscoe Pike Jr.

Roscoe E. Pike, Jr., 79, Wichita, retired Boeing sheet metal worker and father of Charles Pike, Sr. of Augusta, died on Tuesday, May 10, 2005.
Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, at Southside Baptist Church in Wichita.
Visitation with family present until 8 p.m. this evening at Hillside Funeral Home East in Wichita.
Other survivors include: wife, Dawn Pike; brother, Charles Pike; other sons, Ryan Pike and Rodney Pike, both of Wichita; daughters, Colleen Clough and Crystal Corlis, both of Wichita; 20 grandchildren; 14 greatgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roscoe and Sarah Pike.
Memorials to Southside Baptist Church in Wichita and Wichita Independent Special Olympics, 1414 N. Doris Circle, Wichita, 67212.
Arrangements under the direction of Hillside Funeral East of Wichita.
Martin ‘Marty’ Anderson

Martin E. “Marty” Anderson, 52, Parsons, brother of Sandra McReynolds of Augusta, died Wednesday, May 11 2005.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, at the Carson-Wall Funeral Home in Parsons. Burial will follow at the Oswego Cemetery.
Visitation with family present will be until 8 p.m. this evening at the funeral home.
Other survivors are: brothers, Wayne of Craig, Colo., Art of Granby, Mo., Jim f Parsons, and Jerry of Dennis;, other sisters," Wanda " Noe of Altamont and Linda Greer of Wichita; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph Harold and Goldie Maxine Anderson.
Carson-Wall Funeral Home of Parsons is handling the arrangements.

Bert Thomas

Bert Thomas, 90, Augusta, passed away on Friday, May 13, 2005.
Graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 17, at Elmwood Cemetery in Augusta.
Visitation until 8 p.m. this evening at Headley Funeral Chapel in Augusta.
Bert was born on Sept. 12, 1914, in Sandoval, ILL. At the age of 2, he and his family traveled by covered wagon to Butler County, where he lived until his death. He retired after 42 years of employment from the Augusta Mobil Oil Refinery in 1979. In addition to his his work at the refinery, Bert owned and operated with his wife, Chris, the 54 Lunch Cafe from 1965-1973, until the construction of the overpass on east 7th Street forced its closure.
Bert served his country during World War II in various European countries, where he experienced the aftermath of the Battle of the Bulge and the liberation of Nazi concentration camps including Dachau.
Survivors include: daughter, Barbara Harper and husband, Steve; brother, Earnest Thomas and wife, Bonnie; grandchildren, Christy and husband, Rob Wise and Scott Harper and fiance, Kyle Quillen; two great-grandchildren, Kyle Wise and Landon Wise.
He was preceded in death by his parents, five of his six siblings, his wife, Chris, and infant son, Robert Allen.
A memorial has been established at Hospice Care of Kansas.
Arrangements are under the direction of Headley Funeral Chapel of Augusta.

Scott Ruegg

Scott Ruegg, 33, Derby, Wichita Aerospace Spares, Inc. welder, son of David and Peggy Ruegg of Augusta, passed away on Friday, May 13, 2005.
Memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 18, at Headley Funeral Chapel in Augusta.
Other survivors include: his wife, Judy; step daughter, Kimberlyn Herschell, both of the home; sister, Wendy Nance and her husband, Mark of Wichita; grandfather, Donald Ruegg of Durham, N.C.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Kris Roark.
Headley Funeral Chapel of Augusta has charge of the arrangements.
