Pauline C. Buskirk
Pauline C. Buskirk, 84, of Augusta died Saturday, July 23. 2005.
Her funeral service will be 10 a.m. on Friday, July 29, 2005, at First Baptist Church in Augusta with Pastor Terry Deaver officiating.
Burial will immediately follow at Elmwood Cemetery.
Viewing will be from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday at Hillside Funeral Home Augusta.
Pauline was one of three children born to Charles and Holland Foster on Nov. 12,1920 in Humboldt, KS.
Pauline graduated from Chanute Junior College, majoring in Home Economics, and taught in a one-room school at Bronson, KS.
She married Harry L. Buskirk on June 15,1941 at St. Peter’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Humboldt.
Harry preceded Pauline in death. Pauline worked at Beach Aircraft during the War. Her main vocation and passion was being a wife and
homemaker. Pauline’s love for life and her savior led her to teach Sunday school.
She also was a Scout Leader, substitute teacher, Welcome Wagon Hostess, and worked at Prairie State Bank.
Pauline trusted Jesus Christ as her personal savior and was a member of the First Baptist Church. After the children left the nest, Harry and Pauline began to fulfill their life long dreams of traveling to far away exciting places.
She leaves behind their three children; Mike Buskirk and wife Kerry of Augusta, Steve Buskirk and wife Marcia, daughter, Lisa Thompson and husband Gary, all of Wichita; eight grandchildren, Jake and Jenna Buskirk, Holland Kirsch, Heath, Evan and Elena Buskirk, Bailey and Skylar Thompson; three great-grandchildren and one arriving in December; two brothers, Don and Dick Foster, both of Humboldt; numerous other relatives and a host of friends.
Memorials with Gideons, 1057 State St., Augusta, 67010 and Special Missionary Fund, supported by Cumberland Community Church, 5476 SW 157th Terrace, Douglass, 67039.
Hillside Funeral Home of Augusta has charge of the arrangements.
Douglas Keith Kellogg
Douglas Keith Kellogg, 43, Augusta, passed away on Thursday, July 21, 2005.
His funeral service was held this morning at Central Baptist Church, Augusta. Interment followed at Benton Cemetery.
Doug was born on Aug. 8, 1961, in Washington, Kan., the son of Gene R. and Joy (Choate) Kellogg.
He married Christa Bickham on April 16, 1994 at Central Baptist Church. Doug loved to hunt and fish in his spare time.
He most treasured time spent with his kids. He coached little league baseball and soccer, and served on the Little League Board. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan whether they were winning or losing. He was always there to stand up for the “little guy.”
Doug will always be remembered for the love he had for his wife and children. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
His survivors include: his wife, Christa of the home; children, Zachary, age 8, triplets, Clara, Hannah, and Jarod, age 6, and Cortney, age 4; parents, Gene and Joy Kellogg; brothers, Richard and wife Teresa, Jeffery and wife Ginger, and Brian; sister, Brenda Haylor and husband Howard; mother-in-law, Karen Bickham, nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
A memorial educational fund for the Kellogg children has been established in care of Prairie State Bank.
Arrangements are under the direction of Hillside Funeral Home of Augusta.
