Walter ‘Bud’ Aldrich Jr.
Walter “Bud” B. Aldrich Jr. 74, Reno, Nev., father of Kerry (Neeley) Buskirk, Augusta, passed away on
A memorial service for family, class-mates and friends will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 28 at the Wheat State Camp, 11177 SW 87th, Augusta.
He was born Aug. 26, 1930 in Wichita to Walter B. Aldrich, Sr. and Grace (Hamlin) Aldrich. He was a graduate of East High School in Wichita. He lived in Elko, Nev. for many years before settling in Reno.
Bud was very active in organizations in each community he lived, including Chamber of Commerce (Past President), Shriners, Elks Club, YMCA, National Real Estate Association and Rotary Club. He also served as a Commander in the U.S. National Guard.
He is survived by: son, Walter III of Reno, Nev.; three daughters, Kerry (Neeley) Buskirk of Augusta, Dr. Susan Boyd of Las Vegas, Nev., Nancy Earnhardt of Spring Creek, Nev.; sister, Colleen (Keenie) C. Pratt; nine grandchildren.
Donations for Cancer Fund can be sent to the Mary Kay Ash Charitable Foundation, PO Box 799044, Dallas, Texas 75379.
Alice M. Rooney
Alice M. Rooney, 72, Wichita, retired nurses aide, mother and mother-in-law of Keith and Sheri Rooney of Augusta, passed away on Friday, Aug. 19, 2005.
Funeral service was held this morning at Lakeview Funeral Home in Wichita.
Her other survivors include: children, James H. Rooney and Donald'Rooney of Wichita,Steve Rooney and Danny Rooney of Clearwater, and Marie Cooper of Wichita; sisters, Betty Eula Mae Goff and Eda Sue; 21 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by: her husband, James and three children, Linda, Ronnie and Timothy; brothers, Virgil, Herschel, Arvil, Jesse and Clettis; sisters, Elsie, Valmia, Edia, and Delora.
Memorial has been established with Harry Hynes Hospice, 313 S. Market, Wichita, 67202.
Lakeview Funeral Home of Wichita handled the arrangements.
Wayne C. Phillips
Wayne C. Phillips, 81, Hutchinson, brother and brother-in-law of Marge and Bill Thomas of Augusta, died on Saturday, Aug. 20, 2005.
Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, at the First United Methodist
Church in Hutchinson. Graveside service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, at New Gottland Lutheran Cemetery in McPherson.
Family will receive friends until 9 p.m. this evening at Elliott Mortuary in Hutchinson.
Other survivors are: wife, Barbara Jean; daughters, Kathi Fischer of Wichita and Marcia Hudson of Buhler; stepsons, Mark Lollar of Partridge, Troy and Emmett “Bo” Lollar, both of Hutchinson; nine grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Gladys Miller Phillips; step father, W.M. Fry and sister, Hazel Baldwin.
Memorial has been established with the First United Methodist Church of Hutchinson and may be sent in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, 67501.
