Curtis E. Griffith Sr.
Curtis E. Griffith Sr., 73, Augusta, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 25, 2005.
Viewing until 8 p.m. this evening, with family to greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m.; service at 1 p.m. Tuesday, all at Headley Funeral Chapel in Augusta. Interment will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Augusta.
Curtis was born on Jan. 5,1932 in Lyons, the son of the late Frank Curtis and Wilda Elizabeth (Brown) Griffith. He worked as a
paper hanger and painter and served in the United States Army during the Korean War.
In July, 1950, he married Peggy Nell. She preceded him in death as well as his son, Curtis, Jr., his sister, Beth and grandchildren, Timothy Landon and Jessica Lynn.
He is survived by: sons, Dave Lasiter of Pratt, Steve of Reno, Nev., Joe and Tim, both of Augusta; daughters, Sue Desmond of Augusta and Rachel Hoose of Wichita; his companion, Martha Bradley of Wichita; brother, Earl Griffith of Wichita;
18 grandchildren; and numerous great-grand children.
Memorials to Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
Arrangements are under the directions of Headley Funeral Chapel of Augusta.
Rudolph ‘Rudy’ Knackstedt
Rudolph Kenneth “Rudy” Knackstedt, 82, Augusta, retired pipefitter for Skelly and Getty Refineries, died on Saturday, Aug. 27, 2005.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the First United Methodist Church in Augusta.
Visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, at Kirby-Morris Funeral Home in ElDorado.
His survivors are: wife, Lola of Augusta; son, Kenneth Knackstedt of Marquette; daughters, Ruth Bell of Denver, Colo., Verna Zang of El Dorado; brother, Duane Knackstedt of Colorado Springs, Colo.; 12 grandchildren; 16 greatgrandchildren.
Memorials to American Heart Association or First United Methodist Church.
Kirby-Morris Funeral Home of El Dorado is handling the arrangements.
Donald G. Nance
Donald G. Nance, 73, Wichita, retired Wilko Paint Co. lab technician and owner and operator of Nance Fabricators, father of Chris Nance of Augusta, died on Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2005.
His funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sepot. 10, at Resthaven Mortuary in Wichita.
Other survivors include: sons, Michael of Newton and Scott of Wichita; daughters, Donna Behrns of Park City, Debi Trimble
of Valley Center, Karen Andra of Wichita, Lisa Nordick of Valley Center, and Sandi Allison of Newton; brothers, Bobby of Rose Hill and Vernon of Tulsa, Okla.; sister, Opal Miner of Wichita; 14 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen.
A memorial has been, established with American Cancer Society.
Resthaven Mortuary of Wichita has charge of the arrangements.

Dave G. Newkirk, 74, Yukon, Okla., formerly of Augusta, retired from Anadarko Production Co. and Chaparral Energy and former professional baseball player, passed away on Aug. 16,2005.
Funeral service has been held and interment fol- lowed at Resurrection Memorial Cemetery in Oklahoma City, Okla.
He is survived by: his wife, Charlene Newkirk; father-in-law, Charles Gilland; brother, Clifford Earl Newkirk, Jr.; children,
Stephanie Russell, Melissa Sager and husband, Jerry, Nancy Kathleen Johnston, Kelley Newkirk, Shawn Newkirk and wife, Linda, Patrick Newkirk and wife, Jacquelyn, Erin Newkirk Workman and husband, Mike; 15 grandchildren; one great-grandchild.
Memorial donations may be made to Western Oaks Christian Church Memorial Fund in Oklahoma City; Okla.
Arrangements were handled by Mercer Adams Funeral Service in Oklahoma City, Okla.
