Herschel R. Herring
Herschel Richard Herring, 57, Wichita, owner of LPL Financial Services in Augusta, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2005.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 28, at East Evangelical free Church, 14725 E. Harry, Wichita.
Survivors include: his wife, Marcia; sons, Herschel
and Heath Herring, both of Wichita; mother, Jennie Herring, Wichita; brothers, Hal
Herring of Aurora, Colo, and Harold Herring of Sterling, Colo.; three grandchildren, Breanna Herring and Diego and Dakota Rodriguez, all of Wichita.
Herschel was an avid duplicate bridge player, achieving life master in
1983. On Dec. 27, 1970 he married Marcia (Beckwith) in Wichita.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Evangelical Free Church.
Arrangements are under the direction of Headley Funeral Chapel of Augusta.

Doris R. (Lipscomb) Marshall, 93, Augusta, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2005.
Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 26, at the First Christian Church in Augusta.
Visitation from 1 to 8 p.m., with family to greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 25, at Headley Funeral Chapel in Augusta.
Doris was born in Haverhill on April 2, 1912, the daughter of the late Russell and Effie Amy (Simpson) Lipscomb. She worked as a hostess at Lehr’s Restaurant. On Oct. 11, 1930, she married Murray Merritt Marshall in Wichita. He preceded her in death.
She is survived by: son, John Marshall and his wife, Terri of Newton; daughter, Janice Wilson and her husband, Ed of Augusta; brother, John Lipscomb of Augusta; sisters, Ruth Redington, Augusta and Genevieve Werly, Topeka; five granddaughters, Susan Wile, Augusta,
Nancy Miller and Mary Ann Smith, both of El Dorado, Kimberly Fournier of Haven and Lisa Holtman of Newton; nine great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren.
Others preceding her in death were two sisters, Faith Heidelbaugh and Violet Carter.
Memorials to the First Christian Church of Augusta.
Arrangements are under the direction of Headley Funeral Chapel of Augusta.
Andrew ‘Ralph’ Gilliland
Andrew “Ralph” Gilliland, 95, Augusta, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 20,2005.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 28, at St. Mark Lutheran Church in Great Bend. Interment will follow in the Great Bend Cemetery.
Ralph was born on Nov. 14, 1910, at Neck City, Mo., the son of Robert Charles and Anna Carr Gilliland.
He married Artie Mae Goodson on Oct. 12, 1931.
To this union was born Benjamin R. Gilliland of Fla., Mary Ann Burns of Augusta, Patsy Ruth Southard of Augusta, and Betty Mae Diver of Towanda. Ralph married Rachel Nufer on June 6, 1955, at Carlsbad, N.M. She passed away on Oct. 28, 2004.
Ralph was employed as a pumper for Amaco for 22 years, retiring in 1982. He was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church and the Fraternal Order of the Eagles, both of Great Bend.
Other survivors include: sister, Mary B. Green of
Arkansas City; stepson, Willard Herzberg of Chase; 18 grandchildren; three step grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and step great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by: a brother, William Franklin; one sister, Tina M. Bushong; a stepson, Dale Herzberg.
Memorial fund has been established with Barton County Relay for Life or American Diabetes
Association.

Donald Eugene Sullivan
Donald Eugene “Sully” Sullivan, 75, Leon, retired owner of Subterranean, Inc. and member of the Kansas Independent Oil and Gas Association, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2005.
Graveside service was held today at the Moline Cemetery in Moline.
His survivors include: sons, Jerry of Wichita and John of Andover; 11 grandchildren and five greatgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by: his wife, Gladys “Pat” Sullivan; daughter, Donna Cornish, parents, James Arch and Wilmer (Brown) Sullivan; one brother and one sister.
A memorial has been established with the Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice Center.
The funeral arrangements were made with the Zimmerman Funeral Home of Howard.
Robert Ralph Stallworth
Robert Ralph Stallworth, 65, Augusta, retired after 33 years from Raytheon Aircraft, passed away.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at First Evangelical Free Church in Wichita.
His survivors include: wife, Sylvia; son, John of Andover; daughters, Tina Miller of Colorado Springs, Colo, and SSG Myra Gail Stallworth of Salt Lake City, Utah; six grandchildren; one sister.
Broadway Mortuary of Wichita has charge of the arrangements.
