Clara Mae DeWeese
Clara Mae DeWeese, 82, Augusta, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 26, 2005.
Viewing from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 30; funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 1, both at Headley Funeral Chapel in Augusta. Burial will follow at Wilmot Cemetery.
Clara was born in Aetna on Oct. 13,1923, the daughter of William Emmett and Hazel C. (Moss) LaFever. Mrs. DeWeese was an entrepreneur who once owned the City Cigar Store in Winfield; a Western Auto store in Caldwell; a bowling alley and pool hall in Marion. She also farmed and was a former Boeing Aircraft employee.
On July 4,1940, she married Gordon DeWeese in Wichita. He preceded her in death.
She is survived by: daughter and son-in-law, Judi and John Yourk of Scottsdale, Ariz.; sons and daughters-in-law, Joe and Missy DeWeese of Cambridge, Max and Nancy DeWeese of Yukon, Okla.; grandchildren, Brad Ballah, Bruce Ballah, Joe DeWeese, Amy Birsinger, Josh DeWeese, Danielle Howell, Amanda DeWeese; step grandchildren, Christi Duggan and J.W. Yourk; great-grandchildren, Gunnar and Wylie DeWeese, Jacob, Keegan, Harrison and Libby Lou Howell, Isabella, Athanasius and Ian Birsinger; special children, Sal and Zee Tovar, Kathy Maxey, Teresa Jacobs, Shelia and Richard Orange; special grandchildren, Sal Tovar, Misty Steger, Mia Andrews, Melissa Tovar, and Michael Tovar.
In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by: brother, James LaFever and sister, Bertha Miller.
Memorials to Midian Plane of Mercy or Total Homecare & Hospice.
Arrangements are under the direction of Headley Funeral Chapel.

Thomas L. Waymire Jr., 51, Topeka, brother of Jeannie Koelsch of Augusta, died on Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2005.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 29, at Davidson Funeral Home in Topeka. Interment will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery.
Other survivors are: brother, Larry Waymire of Wichita; three nephews.
Memorial contributions may be m made to the Brain Injury Association of Missouri and sent in care of Davidson Funeral Home of Topeka.
Mary L. Shields
Mary Louise Shields, 86, Wichita, mother of Linda J. Voreck of Augusta, died on Monday, Nov. 28, 2005.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 30 at Lakeview Funeral
Home in Wichita.
Other survivors include: daughter, Ellen Devor of Towanda; sister, Lydia Warsaw of Hemet, Calif.; three grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Arrangements by Lakeview Funeral Home of Wichita.
Mabel Brown
Mabel Brown, 90, Douglass, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 27,2005.
Graveside service at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Weakley Cemetery near New Albany. Her survivors are: sons,
Clarence and Roy, both of Wichita; daughter, Frances Mae Hutchins of Parsons; sister, Edna Mitchell of Augusta; brother, Ike Condon of Douglass.
Timmons Funeral Home of Fredonia has charge of arrangements.
Keith McCaffree
Retired Wichita fuel station owner Keith R. McCaffree, 66, died Monday, Nov. 28, at Fall River.
His funeral arrangements were pending this morning at the Corchracl Mortuary & Crematory in Wichita this morning.
He leaves cousins Jan Scholfield and Bill Shriver of Augusta.
Paul Scafe
Paul Scafe, 90, Augusta, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 1, 2005.
Service arrangements were pending this morning with Dunsford Funeral Home of Augusta.
Keith R McCaffree
Keith R. McCaffree, 66, Wichita, retired owner of Amidon “66” Service, died on Monday, Nov. 28, 2005.
His funeral service will be held at 10 a.m Thursday at Cochran Mortuary in Wichita. Burial will follow at 3 p.m. in the Charleston Township Cemetery in Fall River.
His survivors include: wife, Kathy of the home; brothers, Larry of El Dorado and Kenny of Valley Center; children, Lisa Linn of Wichita, Lori Lee of Fall River, Jamie John of Chanute, and David Keith of Wichita; seven grandchildren; cousins, Bill Shriver and Jan Scholfield, both of
Augusta; many nieces and nephews.
A memorial has been established for the benefit of the Fall River Main Street Beautification, in care of Fall River State Bank.
Arrangements are being handled by Cochran Mortuary of Wichita.
