Paul R. Scafe
Paul R. Scafe, 90, Augusta, retired Mobil Oil Company machinist for 41 years, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 1, 2005.
Funeral service was held this morning at Dunsford Funeral Chapel in Augusta. Burial will be on Tuesday, Dec. 6, in Calvary Cemetery in St. Louis, Mo.
Paul was born on Nov. 9, 1915 in Neck City, Mo. to Charles and Pearl Scafe. He served his country in World War II. He was a lifetime member and past commander of Augusta American Legion Post #189. He was a member of the V.F.W. and also belonged to the Local 246 Oil Workers Union.
His survivors include: nieces, Mary K. Lewis of Carterville, Mo., Elaine O’Brien of Portland, Ore.; nephews, John Scafe of Strafford, Mo., Myron Scafe of Overland Park; nieces, Marie Scafe of Smyrna, Del., Martha Fisher of Brigatine, NJ, and Nancy Covert of Centerville, Md.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Rose.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Kansas Elks Training Center for the Handicapped, 1006 E. Waterman, Wichita, 67211, or the Augusta American Legion Post #189.
Arrangements were directed by Dunsford Funeral Home of Augusta.
Douglas Clayton McColpin
Douglas Clayton McColpin, 76, Wichita, retired Boeing Aircraft tooling manager, brother of Jeri Bishop of Augusta, passed away on Friday, Dec. 2, 2005.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Central Community Church in Wichita.
Visitation with family from 5 to 7 p.m. this evening at Downing & Lahey Mortuary in Wichita.
Other survivors include: wife, Phyllis; daughters, Cindy Edwards, Becky Clark, and Donna Brown, all of Wichita; sister, Delma Hazen of Wichita; 11 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by brothers, Orville McColpin, Jr., Dwight McColpin, Vaughan
McColpin, and James McColpin.
Memorial established with Hearts and Hands, c/o Central Community
Church, 6100 W. Maple, Wichita, 67209.
Downing & Lahey Mortuary of Wichita has charge of the arrangements.

Edward J. Keys, 88, Wichita, retired maintenance worker for USD 259, died on Friday, Dec. 2,2005.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 7, at Lakeview Funeral Home Chapel in Wichita.
Visitation to 5 p.m. this evening, and with family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.
He is survived by: daughters, Judy (Fred) Reschke of Andover, Betty (Johnny) Cox of Eureka, Mary (Merle) Reschke of Rose Hill; sons, Bill Keys, John (Sharon) Keys, and Thomas (Barbara) Keys, all of Wichita; sisters, Georgie Yost of Salisbury, N.C., Helen Boley of Derby; brothers, Robert Keys of Derby, Harold Keys of Wichita, Gerold Keys of Humbolt, Donald Keys of Kingman, Ariz.
He was preceded in death by wives, Marie Keys and Dorothy Stewart-Keys.
Memorials may go to Harry Hynes Hospice.

Judy (Nighswonger) Simmons, 60, Augusta, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2005.
Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, at the First Baptist Church in Towanda.
Viewing 1 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 2, with family to greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. at Headley Funeral Chapel in Augusta.
Judy was born on Nov. 30, 1945 in Wichita, the daughter of Lawrence Richard and Edith Evelyn (Hawks) Nighswonger. She worked as a receptionist at McCurdy Auction & Realty and had been a special education paraprofessional for
Towanda Grade School. On May 2, 1970 she married Gene Simmons. He survives.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by: sons, Michael of Towanda and Todd of Ft. Collins, Colo.; her mother, Edith Nighswonger of Wichita; brother, Larry Nighswonger of Wichita; sister, Karen Smith of Independence, Mo.; and grandson, Jacob Simmons.
Memorial donations may be made to the Jacob Simmons Education Fund.
Arrangements are under the direction of Headley Funeral Chapel of Augusta.
