Nora Rawlings

Nora Elizabeth Rawlings, 88, formerly of Augusta, retired Lehr’s Restaurant cook, died on Friday, Feb. 24, 2006.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m; Tuesday, Feb. 28, at Hillside Funeral Home in Augusta.
She is survived by; son, Roger Rawlings of Mulberry; sister, Midgie Anderson of Sunnyvale, Calif.;
several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Arrangements are under the direction of Hillside Funeral Home in Augusta.

Delbert A. Armstrong

Delbert A. Armstrong, 88, Matfield Green, retired Wichita Police Department captain, Wichita Municipal Court clerk, Chase County Commissioner and brother of Peggy Parker of Douglass; died on Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2006.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 28, at Brown-Bennett-Alexander Chapel in Cottonwood Falls.
The family will meet friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. this evening at the funeral home.
Other survivors include: son, Ronald L. Armstrong of Matfield Green; sisters,, Mareta Smith of Wichita, Barbara Cullins of Salina, and Genova Hendrickson of Commerce City, Colo.; one grandson.

Verne M. Ayers

Verne M. Ayers, 88, Nickerson, retired Hutchinson business owner, died on Thursday, Feb. 16, 2006.
Service was held on Feb. 20.
Survivors include: wife, Juanita; son, Dennis; daughters, Janice Piatt, Judith Becktold, and Jeanette Bauer;
10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Arrangements were handled by Elliott Mortuary of Hutchinson. &

Mike Wheatley

Mike Wheatley, 67, Augusta, passed away on Tuesday, March 7, 2006.
Service arrangements were pending with Headley Funeral Chapel in Augusta.

James Franklin Tabor

James Franklin Tabor, 74, Cherryvale, formerly of Augusta, retired from L.A. Knebler Concrete, died on Sunday, March 5, 2006.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 11, at the Nazarene Church in Cherryvale.
James was the son of Charles and Elizabeth (Mueller) Tabor. He graduated from Augusta High School in 1949 and served in the United States Navy.
His survivors are: wife, Freda of the home; sister, Katherine Dowell of Augusta; brothers, Ray Tabor of Strafford, Mo. and Harry Tabor of Corvallis, Ore.;
step son, Jim Pennington of Cherryvale; step daughters, Nancy Pennington and Janet and husband, Steve Lain, all of of Cherryvale;
four grandchildren.
Arrangements handled by Potts Chapel of Cherryvale.

Doyle M. Sullivan

Doyle M. Sullivan, 81, Sedan, brother-in-law of Marietta Sullivan of Augusta, died on Friday, March 17, 2006.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday at the Peru (Kans.) United Methodist Church.
Other survivors include: brother, Bob of Coldspring, Texas; 11 nieces and nephews.
Arrangements are being handled by David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Sedan.

Edna R. Moody

Edna R. Moody, 71, Augusta, passed away on Monday, March 20, 2006.
Service arrangements were pending this morning with Headley Funeral Chapel in Augusta.
