Owen “Smitty” Wesley Smith

Owen “Smitty” Wesley Smith, 79, Douglass, died on Wednesday, June 7, 2006.
Visitation with family present will be from 6 to 8 p.m. this evening, with services held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 13, both at Lakeview Funeral Home in Wichita.
He retired in 1988 as a welder with J.I. Case.
His survivors include: wife, Louise (Ratliff) Smith of 18 years; daughters, Ava Morrison and Tina Carlson; sons, Butch Smith and Davey Smith; grandchildren, Heath, Troy, Wendy, Suzie, Carla, Shala, James, John, Michael, Chris, Jennifer, Eric, Adam, and Aaron; 17 great-grandchildren; additional family includes children, Pat Newlen, Mary Corbin, Gary and Jimmy Ratliff; 17 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 36 years, Betty Lou Smith; parents, Robert and Leota Smith; daughters, Nancy Leffel and Janice Lee Smith; and great-grandson, Justice Wayne Griffin.
Arrangements by Lakeview Funeral Home in Wichita.

Max E. King

Max E. King, 84, Haven, sheet metal worker for Cessna and rancher, passed away on Friday, June 9, 2006.
Memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 15, at Van Campen Funeral Home Chapel in Haven. Cremation has taken place.
Mr. King was born in Bloomington and was a World War II veteran serving in the Army Air Corp.
His survivors include: wife, Irene; son, Brian Conrad of San Jacinta, Calif.; daughters, Valerie Young and Kristi Gerstner, both of Wichita, Maxanne McKenzie of Brandon, Fla.; step son, Pat O’Brien of Carlsbad, N.M.; step daughters, Linda Nastoupil and Jane Murphy, both of Plano, Texas; sister, Carol Prewitt, Wichita; 10 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; four step grandchildren; one step great-grandchild.
Memorials may be given to The Plane of Mercy or Faith Hospice, both in care of Van Campen Funeral Home in Haven.

Alma Tinkler McNaney

Alma Tinkler McNaney, 83, Nixa, Mo., formerly of Augusta, passed away on May 31, 2006. A funeral service was held in Nixa.

Fred Sartin

Fred Sartin, 75, Douglass, passed away on Saturday, June 10, 2006.
Graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 15, at Richland Cemetery, rural Douglass.
Visitation with family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 14, at Advantage Funeral & Cremation Services in Wichita.
His survivors include: wife, Cecil; daughters, Margie Born and Letha Clark; step son, Johnny
Sartin; step daughter, Joyce Hirsch; sisters, Lula Mae Freeborn and Mary Lester; 18 grandchildren; 13 greatgrandchildren.

Earl Ray Roth

Earl Ray Roth, 77, Moundridge, retired owner of Earl Roth Motors in Arlington, brother of Lora L. Tinkler of Augusta, died on Monday, June 12, 2006.
Memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, at Moundridge Funeral Home. Cremation has taken place.
Other survivors are: wife, Dorothy of the home; son, James Roth of Dallas, Texas; daughter, Janet Moore of Newton; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren.
