Helen E. Clark
Helen E. Clark, 88, Oklahoma City, formerly of Augusta, died on Thursday, June 15, 2006.
Graveside service was held today in the Cowley County Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Arkansas City.
She is survived by: daughter, Juanita Johnson; son, Kermit, both of Oklahoma City; son, Norman of Houston, Texas; 10 grandchildren; 16 greatgrandchildren.
Resthaven Funeral Home in Oklahoma City had direction of the arrangements.
Agnes J. Sharon
Agnes J. (Hahn) Sharon, 84, Wichita, mother and mother-in-law of Larry and Cathy Sharon of Augusta, passed away on Friday, June 16, 2006.
Funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. on Wednesday at Resthaven Mortuary in Wichita.
Other survivors include: husband, Bill of the home; daughter, Jane Eveland of Wichita; sons, Raymond, Clark, and Scott, all of Wichita; brother, Clark “Bub” of Bloomsburg, Pa.; sisters, Joanne of Bloomsburg, Pa. and Betty Jean of N.C.; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.
A memorial has been established with Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, St. Francis Unit.
Arrangements by Resthaven Mortuary in Wichita.
Louise Eileen Hanshaw
Louise Eileen Hanshaw, 66, Augusta, retired from Publishing House in Kansas City, Mo. and J.C. Penney in Wichita, died on, Saturday, June 17, 2006.
Visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, June 21, at Dunsford-Zeiner Funeral Home in Augusta.
Graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 22, at Girard City Cemetery in Girard.
Her survivors include: husband of 47 years, Keith Hanshaw of the home; sons, Ronald Hanshaw of Winfield and Richard Hanshaw of Augusta; daughter, Katheryn Robbins of Wellington; three grandchildren.
Memorial donations may go to the Midian Shrine Plane of Mercy.
Arrangements are under the direction of Dunsford-Zeiner Funeral Home.
Richard “Dick” Alley, Sr.
Richard “Dick” Scott Alley, Sr., 79, San Antonio, Texas, formerly of Augusta, passed away on Wednesday, June 14, 2006.
A memorial service was held this morning at Trinity
United Methodist Church in San Antonio, Texas.
Following graduation from high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy as a radio man on a submarine chaser in the Pacific fleet. He practiced oral surgery for 18 years in Wichita. In the mid-1970’s, Dick began a second career as a professor at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio.
His survivors include: wife, Marcia; son, Richard Scott Alley, Jr. of Houston; daughter, Lecia Nan Alley Dorfler of Fairfax Station, Va.; three grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial gifts be made to the National Museum of the Pacific War in Fredericksburg, Texas, or to any other charity of choice.
Arrangements were under the direction of Mission Park Funeral Chapel in San Antonio, Texas.
Esther M. Wilson
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesay at Quinlan Union Cemetery for Esther M. Wilson, 79, Wichita.
Her survivors include: sons, Charles of Rose Hill and Robert of Haysville; daughters, Shirley Lawrence of Rose Hill and Linda Sample of Augusta; 14 grandchildren; 34 greatgrandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.
L.M. “Vern” Helmer
A Celebration of Life will be held for the family and friends of L.M. “Vern” Helmer, who passed away on March 22, 2006, in Corpus Christi, Texas.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, July 3, at Sunset Lawns Cemetery in El Dorado. Visitation will follow from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., at the Kountry Kettle Restaurant (former Red Coach Inn), 2525 W. Central, El Dorado.
A memorial has been established with the Augusta Public Library.
