Michael E. Sheel
Michael Eldon Sheel, 17, Augusta, died on Saturday, Sept. 16, 2006, from injuries received in a motorcycle accident west of Augusta.
Graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 22, at the Moline Cemetery in Moline.,
Mike was born on Dec. 4, 1988 at Iola, to Carl Gene and Deborah Ann (Mitchell) Sheel. He attended West Elk schools and grew up in the Moline community.
On June 26,2006, he married Kayla Lea Ellen Higgins in Wichita, and they made their home in Augusta. Kayla also died from injuries received in the accident.
Mike had been employed as a cook and recently enlisted in the United States Army.
He is survived by: his parents, Carl Sheel of Wichita and Debbie Sheel of Moline; his brother, Chris Sheel of Howard; grandparents, Larry and Ettie Mitchell of Howard and Bill and Barbara Bugg of Livingston, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Eldon Sheel.
The Michael Sheel Memorial has been established for the benefit of his family. Contributions may be left with the funeral home.
Funeral arrangements are being made with the Zimmerman Funeral Home in Howard.
Edna Lee Rumsey
Edna Lee Rumsey, 74, of El Dorado died Monday, Sept. 18, 2006.
The Celebration of her life will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, September 21, at the Kirby-Morris Funeral Home in El Dorado.
Edna was born Oct. 31, 1931 in Augusta, the daughter of Lee O. and Edna Walters Stevens. She attended school and graduated in Augusta. She moved to El Dorado and was a cook at Butler County Community College for many years. Edna married Robert Ross Rumsey on May 2, 1948 in Wichita. She enjoyed being around her grandkids and great grandkids, her family was very important to her. Edna loved to be outside in her garden and doing yard work, and she also loved to dance to country music.
Joshua Brett Unkel
Joshua Brett Unkel, 26, Ferndale, Wash., passed away on Sunday, Sept. 17, 2006.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 22, with a memorial service following at 1 p.m., at Jems Mortuary.
He was born on Sept. 19, 1979 in Wichita. His family moved to Ferndale from Augusta when Josh was 4-years-old.
He graduated from Alger Learning Center and attended Bellingham Vo-Tech as a culinary arts student. He loved soccer, hunting, golf, and the Seahawks.
Left to mourn him are: his parents, Randal and Billie Unkel; brother, Jake; grandmothers, numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by both of his grandfathers, Robert Unkel and Clyde Swafford.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Christ the King Church in Bellingham, Wash.

Kayla Lea Ellen Higgins Sheel, 18, died on Monday, Sept. 18, 2006.
Service arrangements are pending with Culbertson-Smith Mortuary in Wichita.
