Keith D. Lonberger

Keith D. Lonberger, 76, Douglass, co-owner/operator of the Triangle Cafe, died on Monday, Sept. 4, 2006. He was formerly of Augusta and the owner of the Jack & Jill Quick Shop in Augusta.
Visitation from 1 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 10, at Hilyard-Smith Funeral Home in Douglass. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 11, at the First Baptist Church in Douglass.
His survivors are: daughters, Jana Taylor of Douglass
and Jackie Frakes of Wichita; companion, Peggy Parker; brother, Dale of St. Louis, Mo.; sisters, Lucille Cherico of Merrimack, NH, and Edna Mae Bennett of Kansas City, Mo.; eight grandchildren; five greatgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Michael, and wife, Ruth.
Memorials may go to the church.

Joseph Jacob “Joe” Betzen

Joseph Jacob "Joe" Betzen, 84, Wichita, loving husband, father, grandfather and brother died Sept. 6, 2006.
Visitation is Friday, Sept 8 at 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., and Rosary is Friday at 7 p.m., both at Resthaven Mortuary. Funeral Mass is Saturday, Sept 9 at 10 a.m. at St. Anne Catholic Church.
He was a bricklayer for HFH Construction Company
and worked at St. Francis Hospital Remodel Dept. He was a member of Local Bricklayers Union.
Survivors are: his wife of 54 years, Marcia; sons Ron and wife Jane of Wichita, Gerald of Los Angeles, Calif., Russell and wife Sharon of Wichita, Larry and wife Linda of Wichita; sisters. Lucille Arndt and husband Richard of Wichita Falls, Texas, Sally Builderback of Wichita, Lollie Betzen of Wichita; grandchildren, Greg,
Krystal, Amanda, Joey, Joshua, Jessica, Heather, and Matthew Betzen.

Catherine A. Leiker

Catherine A. Leiker, 86, Bel Aire, formerly of Augusta, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2006. Parish vigil will be at 7p.m. this evening; Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, both at Sacred Heart Church, Ness City. Burial will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery.
Her survivors include: son, Gary Leiker (Pat) of Wichita; daughters, Jan Yarbrough (Larry) of El Dorado, Sandy Hahn (Bob) of Ft. Collins, Colo.; brother, Victor Landwehr of Ransom; six grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Kansas State Center for Basic Cancer Research.

Lewis E. “Junior” Mayfield

Lewis E. “Junior” Mayfield, 85, Augusta,
retired electrical supervisor for Mobil Oil, passed away o n Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2006. Viewing will be held from 9 a.m. to noon on Sept 14 at Hillsode Funeral Home in Augusta.
Graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. that afternoon at Elmwood Cemetery in Augusta.
Junior proudly served his country during World War II with the 11th Armored Division.
He is survived by: his wife, Wanda of the home; son, Jerry (Bette) of Douglass, Kerry (Jaye) of Augusta; daughter, Deeny (Anthony) of Augusta; brother, Jimmy of Independence, Mo.; five grandchildren and 10 greatgrandchildren.
A memorial has been established with Faith Home Health Care and Hospice.
Arrangements are under the direction of Hillside Funeral Home in Augusta.
