Randy A. Michel, 51, Las Vegas, Nev., slot technician for the gaming industry and formerly of Augusta, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2006.
Funeral service at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 23, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Vandalia, ILL. Interment will be in , Fairlawn Cemetery, Vandalia.
He was born on July 27, 1955, in Vandalia, ILL., the son of Harry E. and Dolores A. Oertwig Michel.
His survivors are: his parents of Vandalia; sister, Susan (Kenny) Moeller of Dexter, Mo.; nephew, Kevin (Lendsay) Moeller of Gales Ferry, Conn.; niece, Elizabeth (Gregg) Hayes of Jackson, N.C.; great nephews, Braden and Chandler Moeller, Gales Ferry, Conn.
Memorials may go to Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Vandalia, ILL., or to the donor’s choice.
Arrangements are under the direction of Hohlt & File Funeral Home, Vandalia, ILL.

John Alan Neff, 40, Augusta, restaurant night manager, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 19, 2006.
Graveside memorial service will be at 1 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 23, at Elmwood Cemetery,
Augusta. Those attending should use the 12th St entrance.
He was born on Jan. 26, 1966 in Jefferson City, Mo., the son of Arthur Neff and Phyllis Ulshafer.
His survivors include: son, Garrett Neff; mother, Phyllis Ulshafer, Augusta; brother, Randy Welch, Augusta; sister, Loneta Krack, Augusta; grandmother, Doris Schwarz of Wichita; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his step-father, James “Bear” Ulshafer.
Memorial donations may be made to the educational fund for his son, Garrett.
Arrangements are under the direction of Dunsford-Zeiner Funeral Home.
Peggy N. Shepherd
Peggy N. (Eddy) Shepherd, 67, Wichita, passed away in her home with her family present on Friday, Oct.20, 2006.
Visitation with family present will be 5 - 8 p.m., Monday; funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 24, both at Broadway Mortuary in Wichita.
In 1996, after 28 years, Peggy retired as Vice-President of Bookkeeping from Twin Lakes State Bank. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, bowling, yoga, Beanie Baby collecting, playing cards and camping.
Peggy is survived by her husband of 47 years, Burlon “Gene”; daughter, Rene and husband Mark Hromek; son, Mark Shepherd; granddaughters, Jennifer, Jacklyn Hromek and Kyle Shepherd; siblings, Elaine and husband, Bud Hermann, James and wife, Mary Eddy and John Eddy Jr; many other family members.
Preceding her in death: her parents, John L Eddy and Vivian (Hartshorn) Gartin; twin sister, Patricia Killion.
Memorial has been established with Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice.
Services by Broadway Mortuary in Wichita.
