Winifred L. Nachbor

Winifred L. Nachbor, 94, Wichita, retired social worker and former teacher, died on Thursday, Nov. 16, 2006.
Visitation 2 -8 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 22, and from 9 a.m. to the funeral service at 2 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 24, at Smith Mortuary in Derby.
Her survivors include: sons, John (Kathryn) of Potwin and David (Laurie) of Wichita;
daughters, Kathryn (Dr. Tracy) Baker of Augusta and Carol (Jim) McPeak of Encinitas, Calif.;
eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter.
Memorials to Odyssey Health Care 125 N. Market, Wichita, 67202.

James R. Cheslic

James R. Cheslic, 78, Burlington, retired salvage yard operator, mechanic and former Augusta resident, passed away on Friday, Nov. 17, 2006.
The family will meet with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 24, at Jones Funeral Home in Burlington. There is no service planned. Inurnment will be at Bailey Cemetery, west of Burlington, at a later time.
He was born on Oct. 22, 1928 in Attica, the son of Ralph and Ada Harding Cheslic.
His survivors include: mother, Ada Cheslic of Alva, Okla.; sons, Jimmy (Susan) Cheslic of Wichita, Michael (Beverly) Cheslic of Augusta, Kenneth (Deb) Roney of Burlington,
Larry Scott (Marion) Cheslic of Augusta, Herk (Chris) Talley of Burlington, and Dough (Barbara) Cummings of Jacobs Creek;
daughters, Nancy (Junior) Rainey of Covington, La., Nickie Cheslic of Burlington, and Teresa (Ronnie) Cook of Middleton, Ind.; sisters, Violet (Bud) Cattin of Augusta, Caroline (Marshall) Ray of Belle Vista, Ark., Neoma Dale of Topeka, and Alice Reed of Clinton, Okla.; brothers, Don (Velma) Cheslic of Arkansas City and Raymond Cheslic; 22 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death his father and his wife, Louise.
A James Cheslic Memorial Fund has been established.

John S. Martin III

John S. Martin III, 49, Augusta, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 18, 2006.
Service arrangements were pending this morning with Headley Funeral Chapel in Augusta.

Sandra Lou Sammons

Sandra Lou Sammons, age 62, Haysville, homemaker and former Beech Aircraft expeditor, died Monday, Nov. 20, 2006.
Visitation until 8 p.m. this evening with family receiving friends from 5-7 p.m.; service 10 a.m. Saturday, Smith Mortuary, 7031 S. Broadway.
She married Frank Sammons, June 23, 1976 in Haysville. He survives.
Other survivors include: sons, Bill (Tammy), Derby and Paul (Shelley), Haysville; daughters, Christy (Doug) Gutzmer,
Mulvane and Shawna (Travis) West, Haysville; step-mother, Harriett
Burnham, Shell Knob, Mo.; step-brother, Kent Parsons, Augusta; step-sisters, Adena Swearingin, Douglass, and Denise Reid, Taylorsville, Ky.; 12 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Roxanna Faye Sammons and her parents, Clay Burnham and Mary Lou Fletcher.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial donations to Maude Carpenter Children’s
Center, 1501 N. Meridian, Wichita, KS 67203.

Wilma Irene Hill, 92, Augusta, passed away yesterday.
