Sister Dies In Wichita
Anna Arlene Fager, 66, Wichita, sister of Donald Phillips of Augusta, died Monday at St. Joseph Medical Center in Wichita.
Her service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Linwood Church of the Nazarene in Wichita. Rev. David Felter will officiate and burial will be at the Calvary Cemetery in Wichita.
A memorial has been established with Edgerton-St. Joseph Medical Center for Applied Research.
She was born May 17, 1917 in Douglass to Calvin and Alma Humbolt Phillips.
She married Melvin C. Fager Oct. 18, 1947. He survives.
Other survivors include sons, Michael of Wichita, M. Phillip of Wichita; brother, Roy Phillips of El Dorado; sisters,
Effie Swain, Dorothy Boggs,
Helen Melton, all of Wichita.
Broadway Mortuary in Wichita is in charge of arrangements.

Rites Friday For G. Nelson
Services for Golda Maye Nelson, 83, Kinsley, formerly of Augusta, will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Elmwood Cemetery here.
She died Tuesday.
Survivors include a son, Garland of Lutz, Fla., and daughters, Barbara Wines,
May Branstetter, both of Wichita, Arlene Tschop of Philadelphia, Pa., Vivian Tohanczyn, of Folson, Pa., and Fern Rudder of Southgate, Mich., whose name was spelled incorrectly in yesterday’s Gazette.

Sister Dies In Texas
Mabell G. Carr, 77, Garland, Texas, sister of James Johnson of Douglass, died Wednesday at her home.
Graveside services will be at the Hardtner, Kan., cemetery at 1 p.m. Saturday. Her son, Ronald Carr will officiate.
She was born Aug. 1, 1906 in Lamar, Mo., to Jay and Nannie Edward Johnson.
She married Glenn Carr Aug. 1, 1928 in Alva, Okla. He survives.
She was a retired Buck’s Department Store salesperson in Wichita.
Survivors include a son, Ronald Carr of Garland; another brother, Don Johnson of Hutchinson; a sister, Zada Sheddy of Hardtner, and four grandchildren.
Fisher Funeral Home in Kiowa is in charge of arrangements.

Brother Dies In Russell
Dean W. Ward, 69, Russell, brother of Geneva Johnson of Augusta, died at Russell City Hospital Saturday.
His service will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Pohlman’s Memorial Chapel. Rev. James Strasen will officiate and burial will be at the Russell City Cemetery.
A memorial has been established at the Redeemer Lutheran Church.
He was born Feb. 21, 1914 in Gideon, Mo., to Virgil and Eva Frans Ward.
He married Helen Strecker Sept. 28, 1941. She survives.
Ward was a pumper for Cities Service Oil Co.
He graduated from Augusta High School in 1933 and was in business here before entering military service.
Survivors also include sons, Larry of Wichita, Darrell of Solomon, Bradley of Wichita; brothers, Virgil of Wichita, Glenn of Lathrop, Mo.,; another sister, Roxie Jean Phelps of Wichita; four grandchildren and four stepgrandchildren.

Former Augustan Died In October
Cecil Belscher, 76, San Diego, Calif., former owner of the Cozy Lunch here, died Oct. 28 at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.
His service was Nov. 2 in the Old World Chapel in Cypress View in San Diego. Entombment in Greenwood Mausoleum there.
He was born Sept. 15, 1907 in West Virginia to Adrian and Sarah Vaughn Belscher.
His restaurant in Augusta was where Jarvis Auto Parts is now located. He left here in the late 1930s.
He was a cook in the U.S. Navy during World War II. After his discharge he owned and operated Cecil’s Restaurant in Ocean Beach near San Diego.
His wife, Edrie, preceded him in death Dec. 1, 1975.
Survivors include his sister, Alice Clark of Augusta, and a brother, Delbert of Wichita.
