U.S. 54 car-truck collision fatal for one
A Tuesday morning car-rock truck accident at Santa Fe Lake Road and U.S. 54 Highway, west of Augusta, has claimed the life of a Wichita woman.
Gail R. Graham, 50, Derby, bookkeeper for The Augusta Daily Gazette, was killed in the collision.. She was driver of an eastbound 2007 Chrysler passenger car.
Her funeral arrangements were pending with the Downing & Lahey Mortuaries of Wichita today.
Laura L. Alexander, 36, Conway Springs, was driver of the northbound 1995 Kenworth dump truck.
She was not injured.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol report, the truck was northbound on Santa Fe Lake Road and failed to stop at a red light.
The car was east-bound on U.S. 54 in the
inside lane and struck the driver’s side of the rock trailer.
The car was wedged underneath the truck.
Rescuers were called to the injury accident scene around 8:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Graveside service at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 19, Greenwood Cemetery.
Her survivors are: husband, Frankie; .children and their spouses, Christianna and Dave Ruart of Derby, Jeremy and Neena Graham of Haysville, and Frankie and Cassandra Graham of Wichita; mother, Neva Halbert of Wichita; sisters, Bonnie Aaron of Texas, Beti Spencer and Mary Zimmerman, both of Wichita; six grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father and a grandson.
