Vernon Ray Martin
Vernon Ray Martin, 74, El Dorado, formerly of Augusta, retired con-struction
worker for Morrison Knudson Construction Co., U.S. Army veteran,
passed away Wednesday, April 23.
No visitation. Graveside service at 10 a.m. on Monday, April 28, in Elmwood Cemetery, Augusta. Those attending please use the Ohio Street entrance.
Survivors: sons, Jeffrey Martin and Randy Adams; daughters, Nanette Squier and Jennifer Colling; brother, Keith Martin; five grandchildren, one great-grandchild. Memorials may go to American Heart Association or American Cancer Society in care of the funeral home.

Pete Bodyk, Sr.
Pete Bodyk, Sr., 61, Overland Park, formerly of Augusta, passed away on Sunday, April 27,
2008. He worked in sales over 30 years and enjoyed reading, traveling, sports, and his grandchildren.
Visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 29, with a short service at 7 p.m. at D.W. Newcomer’s Sons Johnson County ChaDel. 11200 Metcalf,
Overland Park. Funeral service at 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 30, at Headley Funeral Chapel, Augusta. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Augusta.
He is survived by: wife of 19 years, Conny; children, Lisa (Kelly) Williams, Pete Bodyk, Jr., AJ (Alisha) Bodyk, Brian (Mandy) Price, Kevin (Christine) Price; grandchildren, Journey and Jordan Bodyk, Landyn Price, Mason Stewert; father, John Bodyk, Sr.;
brothers, John Bodyk, Jr. and Tom Bodyk.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret Bodyk.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.

Sharon Lea Spangler, 66, Douglass, retired City of Douglass deputy clerk and Douglass Police Department dispatcher, died on Tuesday, April 29, 2008.
Visitation until 8 p.m. this evening at Hilyard-Smith Funeral Home in Douglass. Funeral service at 10 a.m. Friday at the First Christian Church in Douglass. Graveside serv-
ice at 1:30 p.m. Friday, at Prairie Lawn Cemetery, Peabody.
Survivors are: daughter, Twila Calvert; mother, Opal Lambert; brothers, Harry, Larry and Gary Winter; sisters, Koni Yoder and Melody Grosse;
five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
