Darren Kearns
Darren Kearns, 45, Augusta, died on Wednesday, June 11,2008.
Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. today, at the Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. 8th St. Salina. Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 17, at the Prairiemound Cemetery in Ellsworth County and will follow with a memorial service at 11:30 a.m., at Brookville United Methodist Church.
He was born on March 18, 1963 in Condordia, the son of James and Susan (Derowitsch) Kearns.
Darren is survived by: his wife, Lisa; two children, Calen and Kelsey, of the home; his parents of Belleville; sister, Jami Lummus of Owasso, Okla.
Memorials may be made to the Darren Kearns Memorial Fund for the purpose of his children’s education.

Donna S. Collins
Donna S. Collins, 71, Augusta, homemaker, passed away on Thursday, June 12, 2008.
Visitation from 3 to 8 p.m., with famiy present from 5 to 8 p.m. this evening, at Headley Funeral Chapel, Augusta.
Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, June 17, at the Augusta First Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, Augusta.
She was born in El Dorado on Oct. 8, 1936 to Harvey and Ora Mae Weeks. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Augusta.
Survivors include: sons, Tony Collins of St. Paul, Minn., John (Loretta) Collins of Norman, Okla., Robert (Diane) Collins of Wichita; daughter, Terri (Kenny) Lunsway of Ft. Scott; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bill; son, Bill Collins, Jr.; four sisters.

Melvin Harry Anderson
Melvin H.(Andy) Anderson, 92, Augusta, loving husband, step-father and grandfather passed away June 14,2008.
Visitation from 1 to 4 p.m., with funeral service at 4 p.m. both on Tuesday,
June 17, at Headley Funeral Chapel, Augusta. Interment will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, at Pleasant Ridge Cemeter, Aline, Okla.
He was born April 2, 1916 in Scottsbluff, Neb. to Swedish parents, Charles Anderson and Esther Nyquist Anderson and grew up in a Swedish community, Oakland, Neb. As a graduate of the University of Nebraska, he was a proud fan of their football team.
Upon graduation, he was drafted into the Army Air Corp serving our country in England, France, and Germany during WWII.
After the War he went to work for Phillips Petroleum Company, retiring after 40 years as a chemical engineer. He was a 32° Mason. At age 37 he married Dorothy Beckwith Farabee who preceded him in death in 1998.
He became step-father to an 11 year-old and a 13 year-old.
He had immense love and devotion to his new family providing care and love for the remainder of his life.
He is survived by: stepson, Richard (Loretta) Farabee of Goodwell, Okla;
step-daughter, Virginia (John) Barnett of Augusta; brother, Leonard Anderson (Virginia) of Georgetown, Texas; sister, Jeanette (Vincent) Alstat of Manhattan; eight-grandchildren, 18 greatgrandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. His happiest days were when he was surrounded by his children and grandchildren who will miss him tremendously.

Ruby V. Scott Durham, 80, Douglass, data entry specialist, passsed away on her birthday, June 13, 2008.
Visitation from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m., service time, both at Hillside Funeral Home, Augusta. Interment will follow at Elmwood Cemetery, Augusta.
Survivors include: son, Mike (Silvia) Durham of Wichita; daughter, Judy (Rex) Wheeler of Rogers, Ark.; brothers, Warren (Mary) Scott and Albert W. Scott, both of Augusta; sister, Beulah Jones of Augusta; grandchildren, Daniel (Kim) Jackson, Debby Jo (J.D.) Houck, Monika Bauer, Nareida (Shawn) Hull, Jason Durham, Matt Durham, Bianca (Lance), Anna Lyon, Jeremy (Betty) Drake, Jonathan Drake, Susan (Gary) Braden; 20 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Durham and daughter, Susan Durham.
