Brother Dies In Wichita
George M. Chester, 85, Wichita, brother of Herbert Chester and Carrie Mae Manley, both of Augusta, died Sunday.
His service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Downing & Lahey Mortuary in Wichita.
A memorial has been established with the Grace Presbyterian Church in Wichita.
He was one of the founders of Chester-Kappelman-Gaudreau Realtors. The firm is now called Chester-Kappelman Group Inc.
Chester served in the agency until 1969 after 42 years in the profession. During those years he trained many sales people. He specialized in reviewing closing arrangements on contracts completed while he was a senior partner.
He was bom in McPherson County. He became an errand boy in his father's mercantile store. During World War I he was an Army motorcycle dispatch rider. Later he was a salesman and buyer for Wichita's Woolf Brothers clothing store. He joined the Claude Lambe realty firm in 1928 as a salesman. Ten years later he formed the Harvey-Chester Co. realty firm. That firm later became the Chester-Kappelman company.
Other survivors include his wife, Irene Chester.
Viola Lytton Dies In Texas
Viola Lytton, 95, Beaumont, Texas, mother of Bob Lytton of Wichita, died yesterday in Beaumont.
Her service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Dunsford Funeral Home. Bill Murray will officiate and burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
She was bom Jan. 6, 1887 in Tennessee.
She married Sydney J. Lytton Sept. 19,1906 in Rives, Tenn. He preceded her in death in 1971.
She was a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors also include two other sons, Bill Lytton of Beaumont, Texas, Sydney Lytton of Great Bend; three daughters, Lorena Tubbs and Eulene Roberts, both of Memphis, Tenn , and Eveyln Higgs of Topeka; 21 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
Two grandchildren, Patsy Nell Tubbs and Alyson Lytton Marchese, preceded her in death.
W.C. Wilson Dies At 95
William C. Wilson, 95, Route 1, died yesterday at the Augusta Medical Complex.
His service will be at 1:30 p.m. tomorrow at the Downing & Lahey Mortuary in Wichita. Rev. Burl Allison Jr. will officiate and burial will be in the Andover Cemetery.
He was bom Feb. 27, 1886 in Sedgwick County to Elijah and Nancy Com Wilson.
He was a retired farmer.
Survivors include a daughter, Wilma Reeves of Augusta and a half brother, Luther Metzger of Wichita.
