Patricia ‘Patty’ Stanley

Patricia “Patty” (Wentz) Stanley, beloved, wife, mother and grand-
mother, was born on Aug, 2, 1937, in Augusta, Kansas, and passed away
peacefully in her Augusta home on Saturday, Aug. 9, 2008, surrounded by loving family and friends who miss her already.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m., family from 6 to 8 p.m. this evening, with family at Headley Funeral Home, Augusta. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2008, at the First
Christian Church, Augusta, Kansas.
Interment will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, Augusta.
Survivors include Bobby, her husband of 47 years; son, Paul and his wife Stacey of Augusta; grandchildren, Marc and John of Wichita, Chris of ElDorado, Kylee and Zach Stanley of Augusta; four great grandchildren; her brother, Donald Wentz, sister- in- law Nelva Wentz, of Augusta; and many nieces and nephews.
Patty was preceded in death by her parents Mary Florence Ward and Artie McKinley Wentz, and her sister, Mary Winzer.
Patty gave generously of her time and talents to Butler Community College, with her husband, Bobby. She was also known for giving heart-made gifts of whittled canes, crocheted art works and many crafts.
Patty will be deeply missed in our hearts and in our Kansas community.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests a memorial gift to Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, 313 S. Market, Wichita, KS, 67202.

Elvin H. ‘Red’ Lakin

Elvin H. “Red” Lakin, 96, farmer and retired custodian for Fall River schools, Fall River, died on Friday, Aug. 8, 2008.
Graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 12, at the Fredonia City Cemetery.
His survivors include: sons, Bill Lakin of Leon, Dick Lakin of El Dorado, and Ron Lakin of Augusta; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and numerous great-great-grandchildren.
A memorial has been established with the Fall River Community Building Fund and may be sent in care of Timmons Funeral Home of Fredonia.
