Jess A. Andrus, 93, Wichita, formerly of Augusta, died on Monday, Aug. 25,2O08.
Visitation until 7 p.m. this evening; funeral service at Hillside East in Wichita. Interment will be at Old Mission Cemetery, Wichita.
His survivors include: daughter, Judith
Matthews; brother, Ralph Andrus; sister, Ella Mae Whitacre; two grandchildren; and one greatgrandchild.
Arrangements by Hillside East Funeral Home in Wichita.

Darrell Ivan Seward

Darrell Ivan Seward, 82, Augusta, formerly of Leon, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2008.
There will be a gathering of friends and relatives with family present from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 29, at Carlson Funeral Home, El Dorado. A Celebration of life will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 30, at the Leon Cemetery.
Darrell was born on Jan. 1, 1926, in Leon, the son of Ivan Clark Seward and Elizabeth Abigail Sutter. He was raised in Leon
and graduated from Leon High
School in 1943. He joined the U.S. Air Force at the age of 17 and served two years. He then attended Kansas University and later left school to help at the family ranch. His experience in cattle ranching evolved into an order buying business that lasted over 40 years. He moved from Leon to Augusta in 1983, where he continued his cattle business and played golf.
Darrell was a member of the Leon United Methodist Church.
Survivors include: daughter, Christine (Bob) Mershon, Grandbury, Texas; grandson, Scott Mershon, Fort Worth, Texas; sister, Janice Broadhurst, Creeskill, NJ;
former wife and best friend, Sandra Seward; numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Louise; wife, Linda; brothers, Paul, Bob and Ernie.
Memorials in his memory may be made to the Leon United Methodist Church and left with Carlson Funeral Home, where friends may call.
