Richard “Dick” Hatfield

Richard Able "Dick" Hatfield, 87, of Wichita died Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2008 at his residence.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 29, at the Rindt-Erdman Funeral Home in Arkansas City.
Dick was born Oct. 15, 921 to James Able Hatfield and Bertha Ellen (Holdredge) Hatfield in Arkansas City. He attended Arkansas City
schools and served in the United States Army.
Dick began work at Tubbs Motors in Arkansas City and later owned and operated Dick Hatfield Chevrolet in Newkirk, Okla, and Augusta.
He is survived by: his daughter, Beverly Hughes and husband, Ted; son, Lance Kirk; daughter, Allyson Hatfield, M.D.; grandchildren, Derek M. Hughes Linder, Chelsea J. Newton, Victoria Kirk, Elizabeth Kirk and Bayley Johnson all of Wichita.
Dick was preceded in death by his parents, siblings and a granddaughter, Kimberly K. Hughes Newton.
A memorial has been established with Faith Home Health and Hospice. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.

Bernice Barker

Bernice Elizabeth Barker, 97, died Nov. 20, 2008 in Arkansas City.
Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 23 and the funeral service at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 24; at Dunsford-Zeiner Funeral Home West Chapel, 117 W. 6th Avenue, Augusta. Chaplain Ron Sloan with Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice will be officiating with
music provided by Beulah Gragert. Interment to follow at Latham Cemetery, Latham, Kan.
She was born June 15, 1911 in Butler County to James Clyde and Martha Elizabeth Hall Bing. She married Raymond Bower in 1931 in Leon. She married Everett Barker in 1955, he preceded her in death in 1963.
She was a long time member of the First Christian Church in Augusta, serving in many ca-
pacities.
Survivors include: one daughter, Beulah Gragert of Arkansas City; one sister, Pauline Hoy of Cassoday; one step-daughter, Dorothy Hargett of Montezuma; six grandchildren; three
great-grandchildren; 15 step-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; ;husband, Everett; son,

Robert Marsh

Robert Duane (Jackson) Marsh, 56, Plad, Mo., died on Sunday, Nov. 23,2008.
A wake will begin at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 2, at the Pennington Community Center in Pen-
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 3, at the Pennington Community Center. Interment will be at the Fineday Cemetery in Pennington.
He was born on Jan. 24, 1952 in Cass Lake, Minn., the son of Simon Jackson and Theresa Mitchell.
He was adopted and raised in Kansas by May and Wendell Marsh. He enjoyed playing guitar and harmonica, and singing.
He is survived by: mother, May Marsh; sons, Brian Creach and Joshua Marsh; sister,
Kat Norton; brother, David Jackson; grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his birth parents, adoptive father, and brother, James Jackson.
