Church, Augusta. Burial
at Elmwood Cemetery,
Augusta.
Betty was born on July
12, 1924 in Augusta; the
daughter of the late Fred
Eugene and Hattie May
(Bell) Chalmers. She was
a homemaker who sold
Avon for over 18 years.
She was also a member of
First Christian Church,
Augusta, DWF and Hypa-
tia Club. On April 11,
1942 she married Donald
Ruggles in Winfield and
he survives.
She is also survived by:
sons, Larry Ruggles and
wife Lorene of Scottsdale,
Ariz., Paul Ruggles and
wife Karen of Bellingham,
Wash., Chris Ruggles and
wife Diane of Augusta;
daughter, Bonnie Ruggles
of Augusta; brother, Glen
Chalmers and wife Joyce
of Beaumont, Texas; sis-
ter, Ruth Briggs and hus-
band Jim of Peoria Ariz.;
grandchildren, Michelle
Ruggles, Joe Summers,
Patricia Mallory, Katlyn
Greenley, Donna Trillo,
Kim Garrett, Andrea and
Susan Ruggles, Ann Marie
Beaulieu, Vickie Salis-
bury, Amy and Justin
Steele, Brent Ruggles and
Jamie Klem; and 14 great
grandchildren.
She was preceded in
death by a daughter, Mar-
ilyn Potts.

Betty Jewel Norris, 87 Wichita, mother and
mother-in-law of David E.
and Clowie Norris of Au-
gusta, passed away on
Sunday, Dec. 14, 2008.
A private family service
will be held at a later date.
Betty is also survived by:
her other children,
Michael G. Norris and
Stephanie E. Norris; seven
grandchildren and eight
great-grandchildren.
