Lelia E. Fankhouser
Lelia E. Fankhouser, 92, Vincennes, Ind., formerly of El Dorado and mother of former Augusta resident Jerry (Pat) Fankhouser, died on Jan. 4, 2009.
Funeral service was held Saturday at Kirby-Morris Funeral Home in El Dorado. Burial followed at Sunset Lawns Cemetery, El Dorado.
Other survivors include: her husband, William Chester “Chet”
Fankhouser; sister, Leveda Hogue of Mesa, Ariz.; four grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren.
Memorial donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church in El Dorado.
Arrangements were by Goodwin Funeral in Vincennes, Ind.
Billy R. Haaga
Billy R. Haaga, 77, retired Mobil and British Petroleum operator, of Douglass, passed away Thursday, Jan. 8, 2009.
Bill was born in rural Atlanta, Kan. on April 27, 1931; the son of the late Homer and Alberta (Tomlin) Haaga Starkey. On March 22, 1952 he married Anne (Grady) at the Methodist Church in Augusta and she survives.
He is also survived by: sons, Steve Haaga of Rock, Scott Haaga and wife Alesha of Douglass, and Jack Haaga and wife Joan of Augusta; daughters, Billye Stull of Augusta, and Kathy Lockhart and husband Rick of Douglass; brother, Bob Haaga and wife Kate of El Dorado;
grandchildren, Angie Coombes and husband Kevin, Quincy Stull and wife Sharon, Anna and Thomas Lockhart, Allen, Galen and Emily Haaga; great grandchildren, Kendall and Collier Coombes.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Gene Rex and a sister, Helen Stevens.
Bill wanted friends to come to his memorial gathering, which will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. this evening, Jan. 13, at the Douglass Senior Center, 124 E. 4th, Douglass, to greet one another and to share memories with his family.
Refreshments will be served.
Memorials may be given to the Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice.
