Joe Spain

Joe Spain, 55, Douglass, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 30 2008.
A Mass was celebrated this morning at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic
Church, Andover, KS. Burial followed at Garrison Cemetery, Haverhill.
He is survived by: his wife, Becky; a daughter, Amanda (Dallas) Tice and of Augusta; brothers, Daniel Spain and Roy Spain; sisters, Mary Carter
and Beverly Bormann; one grandson,
He was preceded in death by a sister, Ruby McGar.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to the American Heart Association.

John L. Wilson

John L. Wilson Sr., 84, of Augusta, passed away, Sat- | urday, Jan. j 3,2009. !
Visitation 5-7 p.m. this evening at Headley Funeral Chapel, Augusta. Service at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 7 at Hope Community Church, Andover.
John was born in Gravette, Ark. on June 9, 1924; the son of the late Dan and Maggie (Mauhren) Wilson. He retired as a fork lift operator from Boeing after 27 vears.
John served in the U.S. Army as a Corporal during WW II and was a member of both the Augusta American Legion and VFW.
On May 2, 1946 he married Imogene (Lackey) in Wichita and she survives.
He is also survived by: daughters, Peggy Brunton (Steve), Kathy Ches-
nut (Denny) both of Wichita, Jackie Schmidt (Alan) of Augusta; 14 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandson.
He was preceded in death by: son, John L. Wilson, Jr., three sisters, one brother, and one great-grandson.
Memorials to the Augusta American Legion or VFW.

James Everett Bloom

James Everett Bloom, 78, of Douglass, he was a
farmer and rancher, and retired from Texaco Refinery in El Dorado, died Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2008.
Funeral service was held Monday at the Douglass Church of Christ. Everett was born on Feb. 4, 1930 in Leon, the son of James E. and Naomi L. (Ballinger) Bloom. He graduated from Leon High School in 1949. On August 29, 1953 he married Eleanor Jane Mauk in Augusta.
Survivors: wife, Eleanor “Sis” Bloom, Douglass; children, Craig Bloom, Wichita, Alan (Polly) Bloom, Douglass, Marcia (Mike) Woods, Salina; grandchildren, Charity Goben, Travis Bloom, Vanessa Bloom, Kacey Putman, Klinton Woods; great-grandchildren, Alexis Goben, Mikaela Goben, Katen Putman and Landon Putman; sisters, Treva Bogart, Newton, Loretta (Ivan) Britt, Atlanta, Lila Whiteside, El Dorado.
Preceded in death by his parents and sister, Roberta Hall.
The family suggests memorial donations be made to the Douglass Senior Center, 124 W. 4th St., Douglass, KS 67039.

L. Josephine Molen
L. Josephine Molen, 86, Augusta, homemaker, passed away Thursday, Jan.l, 2009.
Funeral service was held today at the Garden Chapel Of Watson Reflection Pointe in Wichita.
Survivors include: sons, G. Dwayne (Sheila) Molen of Augusta, Bill (Patsy) Molen of Seattle, Wash., daughter, Joyce Ross of Greenville, Texas; sister, Betty Grizzle of Corona, Calif.; 11 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
Memorial to the Alzheimers Association, 347 S. Laura, Wichita, 67211.
