David Jackman,
Jr.

David Jackman, Jr., 88, rural Leon, civil engineer and U.S. Army veteran,
died on Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2009.
Funeral service was held yesterday at the Carlson Funeral Home in El Dorado. A private committal will be held at a later date.
His survivors include: wife, Larree A. Jackman of the home; daughter, Katherine Hanscom; son, David Jackman III; brother, John Jackman; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in his name may be left with Carlson Funeral Home, El Dorado.

Helen Case

Helen Elizabeth Case 98, El Dorado, a nationally recognized teacher and community leader-died Jan. 25, 2009 at the Kansas Christian Home in Newton, Kansas.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 7, at the First Christian Church in El Dorado. Private burial will precede the services.
Helen was chosen the Kansas Teacher of the year in 1960, a Kansas Master Teacher in 1971, and was placed in the Kansas teachers Hall of Fame in 1978. She was a member of the First Christian Church, taught Sunday school for 20 years, sang in the church choir, served as Chairperson of the Finance Com-
mittee, the Foundation Board. She served as the President of the of the South Central District of the Christian church; served on the National Board of the .Christian church.
Survivors include the extended family of Bill and Clarinda Burchill of El Dorado
Memorials may be given to El Dorado Partners in Education, First Christian Church Scholarship Fund, the Kansas Christian Home Auxiliary, National Teachers Hall of Fame or the Helen Case Fund at Emporia State University.

Jerry Lee Hinkle

Jerry Le Hinkle, 51, Wichita, auto body repair specialist, brother of Gary E. Hinkle (Dorothy) of
Augusta, died on Friday, Jan. 30, 2009.
Funeral service at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 4, at Old Mission Mortuary Chapel, with burial to follow in Wichita Park Cemetery.
Other survivors include: wife, Beth; daughters, Ronda Johnson, Kimberly Riley and Cherie Hinkle; father, Les Weckner; brother, James W. Hinkle, Jr.; sisters, Regina Blaine and Pamela Reimer; stepson, Bobby Nichols; five grandchildren.
