Lowell Markley

Lowell Van “Honeyman” Markley, 86, Augusta, retired Cessna tool and die maker, U.S. Army World War II vetaran.
passed away, Wednesday, Aug. 19, 2009.
Viewing will be held from 1-6 p.m. Friday, Aug. 21 and visitation will follow with
family greeting friends from 6-8 p.m. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 22, at the First United Methodist Church in Augusta, with Pastor Steve Spencer officiating. Interment will follow at Elmwood Cemetery, Augusta.
Lowell was born in Augusta to John Lester and Pauline Mary (VanMid-dlesworth) Markley on
March 8, 1923. He attended Augusta schools and Butler County Community College. Lowell
married Alice Louise Brown on June 30, 1955 at the Cumberland Church in Augusta. To this union they had two daughters, Sharon and Aleta. Lowell was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Botan-ica and the Wichita Iris Club, he was also a Beekeeper.
Survivors include: his daughters,Sharon (Doyle) Manahan of Haysville and Aleta Markley of Newton; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild; brothers, John (Martha) Markley of Whittier, Calif, and Jerry (Sally) Markley of Gahanna, Ohio; sisters, Jo Wimberly of Andover, Alice (Jim) Winzer of Augusta.
He was preceded in death by his parents and spouse, Alice in March of 2008.
Memorials have been established with the First United Methodist Church, Hospice Care of Kansas or Botanica in care of Dunsford-Zeiner Funeral Home in Augusta.

Michael D. Freed, 72, Andover, retired Navy Veteran and Boeing employee died on Wednesday, Aug. 19,2009.
Memorial service at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 22, at Christ Lutheran Church, 5356 N. Hillside Wichita.
Survived by: wife, Roberta “Bobbie”; children, Kimberly (David) Swinson, William “Bill” (Jackie) Freed, Chris (Juanita) Freed, Patrick
(Kristin) Freed; brothers, Galen, Jr. and Eugene Freed; 10 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.

Robert Dean Musiel

Robert Dean Musiel, 76, Augusta, retired aircraft cabinet maker, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 19, 2009.
Service at 5 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 23, at the Augusta Senior Center.
He is survived by: his wife, LouViana; daughter, DeAnne (Fran) Velasco of Rio Vista, Calif.; grandson, Roberto Velasco; brother, Kenneth (Jeanne) Roark of San Jose, Calif.; sister, Mary (Jim) Gammell of Linsborg.
Preceded by parents Dr. George and Zola Chickering.

Betty Jo Cron, Augusta, died on Thursday, Aug. 20, 2009.
