Wilma Dean Lewis

Wilma Dean Lewis, 81, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother of Augusta, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 15th, 2009.
Visitation 6-7 p.m. Friday and service 10 a.m. Saturday, both at Headley Funeral Chapel, Augusta. Graveside service 4 p.m. at Fields Cemetery, Dodge, Okla.
Wilma was born in Dodge, Okla. on July 3, 1928; the daughter of the late Curtis and Jewell (Graham) Wright. She was a homemaker, a member of the Cherokee nation and the Nazarene Church. On Sept. 28, 1945 she married Louie R. Lewis in Bentonville, Ark., and he preceded her in death on June 25, 2009. A daughter, Debbie Jean Lewis and a sister, Kathleen Kirtley also preceded her in death.
She is survived by: son, Gary Lewis and wife Rebecca of Douglass; daughters, Jewel Gillis, Carol McDaniel and husband Dale, Nancy Moody and husband Larry, and
Kathy Lewis all of Augusta; grandchildren, Jewel Annette Gillis, Kirk Gillis, Sara Jean Gillis, Dale Andrew McDaniel, Matthew McDaniel, Pamela Aikman, and Gloria Russell; great grandchildren, Rachel McDaniel, Paige McDaniel, Elizabeth Aikman, Isabella Aikman, Elizabeth R. Gillis, Jacob Gillis, Jim Mills, Jennifer Mills, and Elizabeth Rachelle Russell; and a great-great grandson, Avery Andrew Winchell.

Bill Provine

Bill Provine, 82, Wichita, safe in the arms of Jesus, Tuesday, Dec. 15, 2009.
Visitation with the family will be 6 ~ 8 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 17 at Downing & Lahey Mortuary East, Wichita. Services will be held at 12:30 p.m., Friday, Dec. 18 at Cornerstone Christian Church, Wichita. Interment will be at 3 p.m. at Greenwood Cemetery in Eureka, Kan. Bill was raised in Eureka and
after serving on Guam in World War II,

he married his sweetheart, Wink Burris. They had 46 happy years together until she passed away. He later married Barbara and they enjoyed 15 years of happiness together. Bill worked his entire life in the oil business, starting on a rig with his father, Harry Provine when he came home from the service. Bill managed the Republic Supply store in Augusta for many years in addition to being a very successful company representative. He also had his own oil production corporation. He was a member of the Kansas Independent Oil and Gas Association and the Moose Club. Bill was a
faithful member of Cornerstone Christian Church where he served as a deacon and was the chairman of the missions committee.
Bill was predeceased by his wife, Wink; his parents, Harry and Bernece Provine; and sister, Lois Hawthorne.
Left to mourn his passing are his wife, Barbara; his daughter, Julie Stanford and her husband, Chris; his grandchildren, Ashley Stanford, and Heath Stanford and wife, Kristin; and great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Keira, and Tyler Stanford; the son of his heart, Eric Grooms and wife Lora; stepsons, Alan Schriefer, and son, Joshua, and Steven Schriefer and wife, Sarah and daughter, Jenna.
