Luz "Lucy" J. Carrillo, 73, Andover, passed away, Sunday, Dec. 20, 2009.
Viewing 1-5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 28, at Headley Funeral Chapel, Augusta.
Rosary 7 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 27 and mass 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 28, both at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Andover.
Luz was born in Augusta on Jan. 25,1936, the daughter of the late Manuel and Carmen (Contreras) Cabrales.
She worked as a lunch aide at Garfield Elementary, St. James Catholic School and Augusta High School. She had also worked at the Augusta Gazette. On July 18, 1964, she married Benito Carrillo, Sr. in Augusta. He preceded her in death
on May 1,2005. She was also preceded in death by two stillborn infant siblings; brother, Carlos "Charlie"; sisters, Rosemary Cabrales and Helen Gallardo.
She is survived by: children, Maria Elena Laughlin and husband Bob of Wichita, Benito Carrillo II and wife Andrea of Andover, and Ana Maria Atherton and husband Gary of Augusta; brother, Manuel Cabrales, Jr. and wife Ruth of El Dorado; grandchildren: Benito Carrillo III, Alexsandra Carrillo, Briana Carrillo, Kassandra Marrero, Noah Rineheart, Nathaniel Rineheart, Ella Carrillo.
Memorials to Guadelupe Clinic c/o Wichita Diocese, 940 S. St. Francis, Wichita, Kansas 67211.

Michael LeRoy Barber, Sr., 56, of Augusta,retired Trans OK, Inc. Gas Plant Operator, died Sunday, Dec. 20, 2009 at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 26, 2009 in the Memorial Park Cemetery in Staunton, ILL.
Michael was born the son of Mary Louise (Large) and Arthur L. Barber, Sr. on Saturday, Aug. 1,1953 in Staunton, ILL.
On Jan. 2, 1972,
Michael and Rebecca Jean Tolle were united in marriage in Edwardsville, ILL.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Jennifer Barber, siblings: Barbara Mills, Mary Roberts, Ricky Barber, David Barber, Cynthia Westbrook, Ronald Barber, Jackie Barber, Gail Marie Barber and Darrell Barber.
Survivors include: wife, Becky Barber of Augusta;
children, Tanya (Robert) Feeley of Augusta, Michael L. Barber, Jr. of Wilsonville, ILL., Joseph (Angie) Barber, Sr. of Cottage Hills, ILL.; 9 grandchildren, Alexx Barber, Bailey Barber, William Gurley, James Gurley, Michael D. Barber, Kayla Barber, Rebecca Barber, Sara Barber, Joseph W. Barber, Jr.; two brothers, Richard (Georgia) Barber and Arthur (Deborah) Barber, Jr.; several nieces and nephews.
A memorial has been established in his name and loving memory with American Heart Association.
