Frank C. Whitwell
Franklin C. Whitwell, Ret. Col. USAF, 75, Augusta, passed away, Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2009.
Viewing from 1-8 p.m., with family present to greet friends from 6-8 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 27; service 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 28, all at Headley Funeral Chapel, Augusta. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery, Augusta.
Franklin was born in Pearsall, Texas on Aug. 22, 1934, the son of the late William John Bryan and Emily (Mode) Whitwell. He had bachelors and a masters degree from Texas A&M. He retired as an engineer from Boeing. On Sep 15, 1956 he married Alice L. Phelps in Mount Hope. She preceded him in death on September 26, 2005.
Other survivors include: son, Steve Whitwell and wife Emily of Phoenix, Ariz.; daughter, Shelly Garcia and husband Charles of Augusta; daughter, Amy Colom-bana and husband Nat of Seattle, Wash.; brother, John Whitwell and wife Lydia of Seguin, Texas; brother, Clyde Whitwell and wife Rita of Seguin, Texas; grandchildren, Matthew Whitwell, Alison Whitwell, Amanda Garcia, Laura Garcia, Hannah Garcia, Steven Garcia, Brian Colombana and his wife Danissa, Kevin Colombana, Rachel Colombana, Camille Colombana, Ethan Colombana, and Aidan Colombana; great-
grandchildren, Dakota Faith Garcia and Dylan Colombana; and Step Great Grandchild, Oceana Stolle.
He was preceded in death by a brother, James Whitwell.
Family suggests memorials to the Alzheimer's Association.

Viewing 1-5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 28, at Headley Funeral Chapel, Augusta.
Rosary 7 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 27 and mass 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 28, both at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Andover.
Luz was born in Augusta on Jan. 25, 1936, the daughter of the late Manuel and Carmen (Contreras) Cabrales. She worked as a lunch aide at Garfield Elementary, St. James Catholic School
and Augusta High School. She had also worked at the Augusta Gazette. On July 18,1964, she married Benito Carrillo, Sr. in Augusta. He preceded her in death on May 1, 2005. She was also preceded in death by three stillborn infant siblings; brother,
Carlos "Charlie"; sisters, Rosemary Cabrales and Helen Gallardo.
She is survived by: children, Maria Elena Laugh-lin and husband Bob of Wichita, Benito Carrillo II and wife Andrea of Andover, and Ana Maria Atherton and husband Gary of Augusta; brother, Manuel Cabrales, Jr. and wife Ruth of El Dorado; grandchildren: Benito
Carrillo III, Alexsandra Carrillo, Briana Carrillo, Kassandra Marrero, Noah Rineheart, Nathaniel Rineheart, Ella Carrillo.
