Dorothy L. Monfort

Dorothy L. Monfort, 77, retired USDA Chief Program Assistant, Wichita, mother and mother-in-law of Vicki and Franklin Packard of Augusta, died on Thursday, Dec. 24,2009.
Visitation with family this evening from 6-8 p.m.; service at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 30, both at Downing & Lahey Mortuary West, Wichita.
Other survivors: daughter, Judy Everitt; brothers, Wayne Lingen-felter and Harvey Lingen-feffef; sisters, Shirley Coppock and Carol Raaf; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.
Maiy Arredondo
Mary Arredondo, 85, retired nurse's aide at Walnut Valley Nursing Home, Augusta, passed away Thursday, Dec. 24, 2009.
Visitation 12-1 p.m. and service 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2009 at Headley Funeral Chapel, Augusta. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery, Augusta.
Mary was bom in El Dorado on March 25, 1924, the daughter of the late Michael and Andrea
Ramirez Valdez. On Sept. 13,1947 she married Joe Arredondo in El Dorado and he preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by a son, John Arredondo.
She is survived by: son, Joe Arredondo and wife Patty of Wichita; daughter, Dolores Burrows and husband David of Augusta; brother, Raymond Valdez of Wichita; daughter- in-law, Jan Arredondo; 7 grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren.

Kathy Lynn Brown
Kathy Lynn (Arnold) Brown, 52, Wichita, Wal-Mart customer service representative, passed away, Saturday, Dec. 26, 2009.
Funeral service was held today at The Ark Church in Maize, Kan. Interment was in Elmwood Cemetery, Augusta, Kansas
Kathy was born Dec. 30,1956 to James and Louise (McCombs) Arnold in Tulsa, Okla.
Survivors include: sons, Michael Brown of Oklahoma City, Okla. and Brian Brown of Lake-wood, Wash.; her mother, Louise Arnold Robinson of El Reno, Okla.; sister, Lois Ryan of Wichita; granddaughter, Brianna.
She was preceded in death by her father James Arnold.
A memorial has been established with the church.

Mikaila FayMarie (Chavez) Jordan, 17, Augusta, McDonald's employee, died Sunday, Dec. 27,2009.
Visitation 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 30.2009 at Headley Funeral Chapel, Augusta. Memorial service 7 p.m. Wednesday at Community Crossroads Church, Augusta. Graveside service 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec.
31.2009 at Westlawn Memorial Gardens, Topeka.
Mikaila was born May 16,1992 in Topeka.
She is survived by: husband, Daniel Jordan; mother, Crystal Chavez; adopted mother and grandmother, Alice Fay Long; brother, Emilio Lee Chavez; sister, LeTi-cia Chavez; step sister, Vicki Osburn; and grandfathers, John Matchie and Eldon Osburn.
