Lucile Collins Blankenship
A. Lucile (Tanner) Collins Blankenship, 90, El Dorado, left this world to be reunited with loved ones gone before her on Jan. 29, 2010.
Visitation with the family will be from 6-7:30 p.m. this evening; funeral
day, Feb. 3, both at Carlson Funeral Home, El Dorado. Interment will follow the funeral in Sunset Lawns, El Dorado.
She was born on Sept. 2,1920 in Cainsville,
Mo., the daughter of Herbert E. and Audie (Hart) Tanner. She graduated from Cainsville High School and then received a teaching certificate.
She married Max Collins on April 15,1939 in
Cainsville and he preceded her in death on Sept. 25,1970. She later married Harold Blankenship, he also preceded her in death in March of 1987. After the death of her husband she worked at McDonald Department Store in downtown El Dorado. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Eastern Star, Grandmothers Club, and PTA. She loved to crochet, garden and especially being with her family.
Those who survive are: daughters, Marcia Guy and husband Gerald of El Dorado and Trudy Clay-camp and husband Duane of Augusta; daughter-in-law, Bertha Collins of Hooker, Okla.; her grandchildren, Michelle (Peter) Helten of Augusta, Robert (Kelly) Ward of Wichita, Jeff (Karla) Claycamp of Wichita, Michael (Amy) Ward of El Dorado, Shannon Martinez of Wichita, and David Collins of Silver Lake; four step-grandchildren, Jeff
(Liana) Guy; Andrea (Chris) Guynn; Jeremy Guy and Cherry (Clay) Rider, Hooker, Okla.; great-grandchildren, Aaron (Kristie) Haskell, Augusta; Kristi Haskell, Olathe; Tyler and Taylor Ward, Wichita; Madison and Kameron Ward, El Dorado; Dillon Collins, Silver Lake; Kinsley and Landon Claycamp, Wichita; Tanner Martinez, Wichita, and one on the way, Noah Michael Ward; eight step-great-grand-children; and great-great-grandchildren include Easton Head, Olathe and Payton, Kin-leigh and Brody Haskell, Augusta.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; a son, Charles Collins, and a brother, Junior Tanner.
