Milbume “Ed” Edwin Jackson

Milbume “Ed” Edwin (Walty) Jackson, 71, Wichita, retired Larry Walty Roofing estimator, died on Jan. 1,2010.
Funeral dinner at 11 a.m., with service at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 6, at Park Place Ministry Center.
Survivors: brother, Kenneth Walty of Bur-rton; daughter, Terry Lynn Jackson, Augusta; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by: mother and stepfather, Blanche and Clarence Walty; brother, Larry Gene Walty; daughter, Tracey Jackson and granddaughter, Cherie Cornelius.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established with Park Place Ministry Center, 2139 S. Maize Rd., Wichita, KS 67209.

John M. Helm

John M. Helm, 92 formerly of Towanda, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2010, at Lake Point in Augusta.
Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 5 at Grace Lutheran Church, El Dorado. Cremation will precede the services.
He was born July 2, 1917, the oldest of five children to Samuel Arthur and Lula Mae (Gowin) Helm. He graduated from High School in Walker, Mo. and then served in the Air Force during World Warll.
John was a retired Santa Fe truck driver.
He liked to travel, hunt and fish. He was a member of the Lions Club, VFW, and a lifetime member of NFR. He had made his home in Towanda for 23 years moving from Denver, Colo. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in El Dorado.
On Feb. 14,1971 he married Marjorie L. Parry in Denver, Colo.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years. Other survivors include: daughter, Joni Ahlburg and husband Bob, Phillipsburg; a step-son, Harold Kahre and wife Linda, Aurora, Colo.; two sisters, Juanita and Loretta; two daughters-in-law; two sisters-in-law; one step-grandson; five grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his two sons, James and Terry; a sister, Betty and a brother, Emmett.
Memorials in his memory for Grace Lutheran Church may be left with Carlson Funeral Home,

Evadell Burden

Evadell Burden, 73, Wichita, retired Boeing secretary and homemaker, died on Monday, Feb. 1, 2010. Service at 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 5, at Downing & Lahey Mortuary East in Wichita.
Survivors include: daughters, Jacalyn (Brian) Fortune of Benton and Kristin (Chad) McCleerey of Andover; three grandchildren; sister, Mae Benton of Emporia.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Tom Burden, and her sister, Phyllis Becker.
In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established with the Multiple Sclerosis Society, 9415 E. Harry, Wichita, KS 67207, and Good Shepherd Hospice, 439 N. McLean, Wichita, KS 67203.
